Ok, so I join the ascension map, and if there isnt a COVENANT SCARAB IN THE MAP. O...M...G...
I thought hacking was only cheating to win, but some member showed me all the fun stuff you could do with it! Add bots, put crazy stuff like the Scarab in it. ;) , and the super sercret scarab gun weapon as well. BTW the Scarab gun is a real gun. I found it in campaign and it is SOOOOOOOO powerful. Best weapon in the game bar none. Im just going to hack offline, and pretty much create my own custom maps with all sortsa shit and keep the boredom level down when Xbox live refuses to connect.

It is annoying to encounter flying tanks, though! XD

Bungie loves people cheating, IMO. They make more money when someone gets a new account after getting banned.

What do you guys think of the hacking stuff?

  2. Bungie doesn't enjoy people hacking their stuff. They might make a few bucks off banning some people but from a business standpoint they have to hate cheaters...think about it. For every cheater there are countles legit players whose fun has been decreased and the experience tainted. Bungie doesn't want people to hack and risk running off countless people who are left with a bad taste for their product.

When I hack the game, Im only going to do it offline, and put bots in it. I might do some exploring cheats like flying characters and stuff, but thats it. No cheating, and no risk of being banned.

LOL me and my friend were some of the first people ever to do the sword cancel thing. It was so funny, I flew across the freaking level and he was like WHAT THE. Great times. I also remember doing stuff like smashing the warthog into the ghost to make it go flying, then falling out, and trying to ride on a banshee and falling off. Too bad I cancelled my Live (didnt really ever play so I didn't see the sense in paying 50 to renew my 3 month subscription). It started to get boring because there were so many stupid kids on half the time, or cheap asses who would go off in the corner and whack off and snipe or rocketed the whole game while 4 other people battled it out...plus I don't know anyone around here with live and don't like playing with anonymous players.....I heard bungie patched all the cheating though?

i hate the new update..it's fucking cheaters everywhere, people who run, lightning fast, flying vehicles, shooting through walls etc..and there i was thinking bungie finnaly fixed the game.

It's been less fun to play since they "fixed " it

ban all cheating bitches..just ban their entire account or block the mac adress of the whole x-box so they can never play on live again..because those people just fucking ruin the game

Nope, I played a "Custom" game. Halo 2 basketball. Some guy hacked the game to have no weapons at all, one bomb as the basketaball, a dribble system of sorts and so on. This guy hacks for fun, not for cheating. He did say he could get banned by Bungie for it, even if he isnt cheating, though. He said you can do almost anything with hacks, and all you need is an Xbox pro action replay, too!

So to have bot's and make maps and all that you just need the pro action replay?

I think so. But dont do it, yet. This guy said he would email me the downloads and tools I need. I think once you get Pro action replay, you can download hacks and play them on your games. Im doing some research and found some pretty nast hacks, too! Im not gonna cheat with it, though. Wheres the fun in looking at someone and them automatically dying (MEdusa cheat)? BTW, I dont think hacking lets you make maps. I meant to play maps with bots.

Yeah, I definetly wouldn't be cheating with it, I was interested in the bot thing. I bet the PAR could unlock some hidden code buried in the game too (weapons and crap) like with the RE2 demo and silent hill 2 and such. thats wierd though how a code would grant a bot ai and things.

Back in the Phantasy Star Online days for Dreamcast I was a very naughty boy - infact it's also how I came to use this name ;)

But anyhow, I used to play PSO without cheating at all and loved it, I cold get to level 100 in about 2 days solid graft, when Ver 2 came out I spent a month or so enjoying that too, then I picked up an xploder -_-

After that I used to FSOD, RSOD and NOL like crazy - I did it so much (especially Lapetus 01-01) that you would think it was going out of fashion :p Whilst for me at the time it was fun, it destroyed the experience for thousands of my victims. Imagine logging on to play a game you love, you enter a lobby and your Dreamcast either crashes or resets. Then imagine if you ever got in game someone would join and NOL you (overwritng your character with an NPC and low lvl) and losing 100+ levels of experience just like that. Heck we was so bad Sega banned the serials for the entire clan at one point and mine several times in an attempt to get rid of the hackers - Sega even updated their cheat protection to ban a lot of the cheats too but in my spare time with a pen, paper xploder and determination I managed to rewrite a lot of the codes so they would work online again but much worse to Sega the cheats were more compact, which meant I could use more cheats online at the same time.

Nowadays I'm back to my old anti-cheating self though :) But it's been proven time and time again that cheating destroys the games many of us love and in the worse case scenario it destroys the communities which love them too. Cheating should never be done in public servers - period. It should only happen ina private server populated only by a bunch of friends so you can have a private mess about.

Like the flame-thrower and fuel rod cannon! Maybe, just maybe, the ATV as well.

good god I use to play PSO too, and it was a blast, but I started playing the last year before it was shut down. I remember funky things happening, and I kept thinking it was my connection, then suddenly someone told me it was from people with gamesharks! hahaha those were the days....I still play that game occasionally online with free dial up services.

*clears throat* Action Replay is only for hex editing saved games. That means you can only insert characters into different levels with different items or vehicles. That does not mean you can put a banshee into Collosus because there is only a boolean code for it. Also, hackers already went through the game and found no code of the ATV. The footage of the ATV on the bonus disk was running on halo 1 with a different physics engine.

hahahahahahhahahaha anyone remember the doa:2 hardcore kasumi code...? I don't, because I just got that game, but apparently some kid got sued for making her naked by replacing her witht he naked model from the test tube. I don't have a code breaker....the girl has one though, but I don't have a real desire to see polygonal boobs.

So does that mean you can put enemy A.I.s in a multiplayer map?

i like codes and hacks for only one reason: searching trough the game's memory to access stuff that where suposed to be in the game, but where removed at the last minute. Just search the web for everything that was found in both perfect dark and golden eye on n64, it's just simply amazing.

As for those stupid moron using cheats to be the best of the match, i want to say for everyone of those to get a life. I don't understand how you can be proud to win or even how it could be fun to play (and for the most of time win) a game with cheats, i just can't. the fun of a game is to be proud of our wins and to take our loses as a training, how can it be fun to take the pad for the first time, use a cheat, and beat the crap out of the other players who worked so hard to get better and better. If you just wanna cheat, then, please, don't play.

  19. ...Spot on, it's cool to look and play with the code at home, but not to use it to cheat against another player online, thats just sad.

I think one of the games I ever used a cheat device to win at was Battletoads because that game is REALLY HARD, but I did beat it once without cheating.
