http://hackaday.com/2014/05/07/plug-and-play-portable-console-saves-space-so-you-dont-have-to/ Crazy!!! It got me wondering: how practical would a similar mod be with Atari 2600+Harmony cart, Game Gear +GGTV+EDGG, Genesis+EDMD, NES (famiclone)+ED, etc and build the base unit with TV and controllers? It might end up looking like a ghetto portable Neo Geo AES with the giant cart housing the game consoles and flash carts with SD. But surely it's possible? 2600, GG+TV, famiclone that is compatible with ED, SNES (newer smaller SNES2), and a few could probably be reduced to roughly size of NES pak. N64 would be hard but it has been done. Is there a very small Genesis or Mega Drive that works with Everdrive? PSOne with PS-IO could also be done easily. Electronics, that'd be easy for me to do. But I don't have equipment or experience to do custom shells or mod one neatly to look professional.
As above, the emulators available on Android are surprisingly awesome. Have lost much class time to playing SNES & SMD games.
The point being that this creation is this is real modified hardware not emulation. It doesn't run adware or require access to your camera, call history or do any of the other shady things that mobile apps will do in the background. I like it and hopefully creations like this continue to endure.
