the word art is so broad, the meaning and actual essence of the word is just too many things, meanwhile to the bunny i say (beattles yellow submarine plays)
Hmmmm "art" that reminds me of a person who took a dead pig and he let it rot(over months) while it was shown at the museum in Denmark . Or for that matter when the same guy Took dogs (real dogs) and they were stuffed so they could be shown. Or for that when somebody (maybe the same guy ?) took about 8 blenders with water in them and he had living fish in them, and you could choose to blend(kill) the fish or not. And yes i like the old painters you have mentioned (Goya is very gory :-D). But i also like the Danish artist Otto Frello. His most "boring" paintings reminds me of the best Magic The Gathering Cards. And the Best reminds me of TSR´s ADD paintings (different artists). http://www.ottofrello.dk/
Some people have a very narrow definition of art, but that doesn't make the term any more meaningful. It' just a plain empty category. It carries only connotation, not denotation. And the connotation it generally carries is one of elitism, so I don't care for it. ...word is bondage...
This is too funny. I can't imageine the problems they are going to have once this thing get infested with all kinds of rodents and insects. :smt100 I too feel the need to climb atop the bunny and proclaim my victory over the gargantuan attacker. :smt071 Very interesting site, thx for the link. ^_^_^
The question if this is art will always come up because this is new and the guy wants it to be proclaimed as art. If the majority agrees its art then the thing will stay, otherwise they will take it down. This reminds me of this one artist, who's name I don't remember, who had a portrait of Jesus Christ in a jar with a yellow liquid. When someone asked what that liquid was, the artist said it was urine. Everyone was shocked about it and then changed their views on it and didn't regard it as art but demeaning to jesus and christianity so the musuem took his stuff down and was banned. The artist caused quite a stir when that was revealed. Now imagine what would have happened if that bunny was made out of actual rabbit fur. I'm sure the animal rights groups will urge the government to take it down and will probably win. So, its considered art if the majority, or at least those in charge, like the piece of work.
I was at an exibition in Copenhagen (near Storkespringvandet like on the picture) and i met Otto Frello he is an old man, but he has made alot pictures and he autographed my book i bought with his pictures. It was his old apartment the exibition was in, but in Varde there is a whole year exibition of his work http://www.vardemuseum.dk/#Jugendhuset http://www.geocities.com/climber_jack/OttoFrelloHomePage.htm i found this other site where you can see his pictures. But i saw all his very great pictures (i almost touched them, but i didn´t touch them and wow they were very pretty). I really like his Amberforest picture http://www.ottofrello.dk/58.htm (it is a jurassic jungle and the picture is very interreresting).
Till 2025?? They can feel lucky if it doesnt get stealed or destroyed by 2006 In a city near where i live they attached a car under a bridge (in vertical position)...two days time and the car was in the river below, since "someone" cutted the rope...
