Allowed it through my firewall, but doesn't even attempt to connect. Just immediately gives an error. Windows 7 64-bit. Help! Thanks!
It says, "An error occurred. Please check your network connection." Unfortunately it isn't much more specific than that. As for running it as an admin, I don't know how, since I got it through steam.
I think the service that does the multiplayer stuff is having issues. I was getting errors too when I first installed it, and then a couple days later it was working fine.
It is having issues, the first 2 days I couldn't even make an account to play. then when I did, nearly every single server I tried wouldn't let me connect. I seem to be having better luck now though
I downloaded it through Steam a couple of days ago and also have some connection issues at first but now can play smoothly without any trouble.
There is a multiplayer demo that they released, I assume you are talking about the leaked full game? I don't know if that has multiplayer in it or not. Either way, I'm starting to get pissed off with this demo. I have the max of everything you can get in it and am just getting irritated at the fact that someone can kill me with 2 shots with full health with a pistol when I empty a full mag of a pistol into someone they still stand. And that the Armor function practically does nothing to help you from dieing.
Yes, I am talking about the Multi-player Demo. Got it about a week ago and it still won't work. How long did it take to create a account for you guys? Mine just seems to get hung up...
Mine took a little over 2 days, are you trying to do it through the game or the website? the site was borked for me no matter what. doing it in game worked
Well, now the 1.2 has broke the game for me. I get a network error when trying to log in BOTH before and after updating the game. And it still says "Press start" instead of "Press enter" Whoppdee freakin doo
Ha, good plan. This sort of thing happened with the Halo 3 beta on the XBox 360. First day was so swamped with people trying to download it few could get it. Despite that I had problems just getting XBox Live to recognize that I did indeed own a copy of Crackdown with the beta invite on it. This also happened with the Battlefield 2 demo when it came out (much server poundage was seen and swapping the demo via BT and USB flash drive was had) and just about every high visibility PC demo to come out to do multilayer with a centralized server based component. Good god do I remember the problems Battlefield 2 had on opening day.
