This kinda sucks. At least they're not completely under... Guess we should look out for liquidations? http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-12-20-crytek-breaks-silence-lets-go-of-multiple-studios TLDR? "Crytek is closing down its Budapest (Hungary), Sofia (Bulgaria), Seoul (South Korea), Shanghai (China) and Istanbul (Turkey) studios."
Black comedy on This just came out a day after the assassination of the Russian Ambassador for Turkey, the Yerli brothers are actually germans of turkish parents. Black comedy off
That's not black comedy, that's just poor taste. Lots of people losing their jobs after not even being paid for a long time, plus someone getting killed. Really funny stuff.
So i guess we'll see an influx of dev hardware again unless they do it right? Shame so many people are losing their job. Best of luck to any involved.
Yeah, really though... put yourself in the workers' shoes. Not funny in the slightest. Sad thing they will probably do it right and send all their stuff back to the main studios in Europe. Plus, it's gonna be hard to find liquidation sales in Hungary, Bulgaria, South Korea, China (well maybe not TOO bad for this one) and Turkey.
As I've said, it was a black comedy joke, I hope they get better. TBH, barely anyone licenses Cryengine and they had cancelled projects and even closed Free Radical and sold Homefront 2 (they only had it for months), I was surprised that a developer that barely made any break even had tons of studios.
