One the best FPS I've ever played and a blast to play online, decided to grab this vs Halo2 for my first time going online with a console and never regretted it ! Humour was spot on !
I can't say a whole lot on this topic, just that I'm a big fan and always have been. I'm not sure about the whole G-Face idea, but if that is the only way a TimeSplitters 4 would come to light.. Then that's acceptable. Although reading through that post, I can understand how they would be hesitant. Based on today's market and the current gaming trend.. Well I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
It might not sell like Call of Duty but it would surely SELL some. I haven't met a single person(irl at least) who's played at least Timesplitters 2 and did not like it. BUT ALSO: How can you measure the community from freakin Twitter? There's a huge amount of people who probably like it and don't use twitter...
Agreed. (with all of it) Measuring the love for TS2 on Twitter is pretty weak, whoever does post though, give it a +2 for me and Vosse! :wink-new:
Here's my 2 cents; I think they're more than just talking about making a new TS. I think they're just trying to stir up publicity and get TimeSplitters to trend on twitter.
They shopped it around before and there was ZERO interest from any publisher, the fact that it did so well with next to no promotion should prove to them there is an audience out there for. Granted it's the hardcore and as Vosse said it won't do COD numbers but it should move 2-3 million combined EUR/NA
only played the second one properly and thought it was a great game, hopefully number 4 is in the works and they are doing this for some early publicity
The only one I've played is number 2, and it's pretty sweet. The first level has gotta be a deliberate Goldeneye callback... They could have a point about the fanbase, but I think it'd do a lot better than the Syndicate flop, for example.
Most of the team worked on Goldeneye, they split from Rare to form Free Radical, decent read here http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-05-04-free-radical-vs-the-monsters .
I know that, but it's still a pretty blatant callback, especially since the game does play a lot like Goldeneye.
