I did not build this but thought it was cool. This guy has insane metal working skills. All hail the Netherlands sourced desk!!! Hack A Day link: http://hackaday.com/2012/12/18/heavy-metal-computer-case-desk/ Build log page 1 link: http://forum.coolermaster.com/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=15726 Be warned that the build log has a billion pictures of the process and a few videos as well.
Jezzus, now THAT'S a heatsink. Cool mod, but the wood table looks like it's from the 70's. No stained finish? At least a cool paint job could compliment the hardware inside. It just looks... out of place. Otherwise, well done. That guy has some talent.
You think THAT'S a heatsink??? That's nothing. Check this out: http://hackaday.com/2012/12/17/silent-htpc-build-is-an-art-piece-for-the-livingroom/ The whole metal casing side is a major heatsink.
Meh. I mean that's big, but the one in the desk is impressive because it looks like a damn wall radiator. Looks liquid cooled with custom copper pipes.
It is water cooled. 2 separate loops for CPU and the 2 Nvidia video cards. Pipes are stainless steel not copper. Everything metal is either aluminum or stainless. All the custom metal stuff that is. Yeah, I read the whole forum topic on this thing... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what? if you're going to do something may aswell do it right! im going to set about designing a computer desk, and a tv / console stand that wont be made for a while today will keep me busy if my parts / other things dont show up in the mail today.
I wouldn't of gone with the oak. I probably would of have had the table top painted black or granite type finish.
ahh that good old table, the guy that build that lives relatively close to me and i remember seeing the build logs on another forum i visit quite often, theres a hell of alot of work in that thing, his welding and attention to detail is incredible
