So for better part of the last say 4 years I've been trying to learn how the unreal engine 3 compiler works as far as custom mp maps in games like gear of war 3. And I have been wondering is it even possible to do something like that and if so what would be needed? NOTE: this is strictly to personal use ONLY for learning purposes
I wouldn't say Unreal Engine 3 has a compiler are you referring to the content cooker? The only way you could cook content for the console version of Gears of War 3 would be to obtain the tools that cook the content itself. As far as I know, those were included in some leaked beta versions of the game. Making the actual content will have to be done within the Unreal Engine 3 editor for Gears of War. Regards.
