On two of the later CDs which came with the japanese 3DO Live magazine, there were video trailers for D2 which were said to run on M2 hardware (but it was obvious that they were just rendered). Anyway, the game looked great and was absolutely different from what in the end was released as D2 on the DC. You can watch one of the trailers here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6O6jKswvQ4
Just read this thread : http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5421 You will find another video for it
I remember reading a preview of that game on a spanish magazine ten years ago. It looked pretty impressive for that time. The screenshots on the magazine were very similar to those on the first link (a blonde man with a sword in a castle). If anyone's interested i could look for that old mag and scan those screenshots.
The version of D2 on the Dreamcast is closer to Warps Enemy Zero than D on the 3DO. What is known about the plot is a little sketchy but the major difference is that in the 3DO M2 version Laura died in plane crash (or so it seems) and the lead character was her son - apparently magically teleported from her womb before the impact. It was finished for M2 apparently but after M2 failed to see the light of day... In addition to appearing on the Japanese Live disk as other have said (disk 9 or 10 I believe) a shortened (grainer) demo appeared on the Flupon World disk also for the 3DO. I covered a bit of d2 on my blog... http://fz1-3do.blog.co.uk/ all the best, Will
There's a shop here that has that 3DO directors cut version. I wonder if the movies are playable on a PC? Yakumo
There are a couple of ways of achieving this. 3DO Commander is one way. You can use this to extract files from a 3DO disc. (You may need UnCD-ROM to extract the disc itself.) http://thdo-homebrew.narod.ru/3DO_Commander.htm and some other bit and bobs http://thdo-homebrew.narod.ru/3DO_Stuff.htm A bit hit an miss I find. or of cause the 3DO emulator. I never had a problem getting to run but I had limited success ripping anything using it. I never got quite as far with Virtual Cameraman 1 to 5 as I would have liked  Will
First they became "Super Warp" and AFAIR they worked on some web-based games. After they went out of business Kenji Eno formed FYTO (From Yellow to Orange). You can view the website here: http://fyto.com/ - unfortunately there's nothing more than their logo to be found. However, Kenji is said to work on a game for the Wii. Here's his blog: http://blog.neoteny.com/eno/
actually i own d's dinner directors cut, but it only has d1 trailers from ces etc. nothing more.ill recheck later, thanks for all the info. i think we will have to wait for Kenji Eno's response...
I know Fumito Ueda worked on D (he also did Ico and Shadow of Colossus) but I can't guarantee he speaks English or whether he worked on D2 either. Will
