Just recived D for saturn, first of must say great graphics for the age, way better then Resi on same system, i know resi was ported but still Whats others opinion on it, i like it but its a bit slow as you dont have total control on ur charcter also D2, was it ever relased for saturn ?
Man, I hate D, and I REALLY hate D2. I've never played a game made by Warp that I've liked. I don't rememer much of D, but D2 was jus corny, boring (Yay...fighting tentacles in the snow). I never finished either of them...as I didn't like them much. But you seem to like D already, so give D2 a try, you'll probably like it. Odds are, a bunch of people are going to tell you that D2 is great, so it just depends on what kind of games you like.
The reason D looks good is because it's all GC video. The Saturn isn't doing anything apart from playing the video clips. THe are 100's of Japanese games like this. D was also available on the 3DO first then Saturn and PlayStation. Yakumo
I liked D, particularly the part with the Knight. The sequel is a love it/hate it type of game unfortunatly. The controls and pace can take some getting used to, but if you can overcome those two things you'll find that it certanly does have its moments.
I was thinking of getting D, but which version is superior; the 3DO, Saturn, or PlayStation one? Is there even any difference really?
what's the difference between 3do D and D: directors cut? I'm curious why 3do D:dc cost way more than regular D????
No idea what the difference between the 2 3DO D games are but I can get one for a cheap price if you really want it. I'd say the 3DO version is best with the Saturn coming in last (The PAL Saturn version looks really shit) due to the poor cinipac FMV used. Yakumo
Enemy Zero featuring the same model is rather interesting. Scary, good video too. What i played of D seemed cool, i like wierd cases like these.
Sorry mate. Whent to get it today but it was gone Picked up another nice 3DO "pilot" disc that I'll be putting up on Kron's http://www.videogameauctions.co.uk/ site. Yakumo
I have both Ds on the 3DO, but couldn't manage to play further than 30 secs in both versions w/o jeopardizing my own health.
The original 3DO release has shorter CGs, for example when Laura goes into the hospital she's transported to the castle just after she enters the doors. The Saturn/PC/Playstation versions have longer CGs and some are touched up a bit, Laura now looks around the hospital foyer a bit before being transported. The 3DO Directors Cut lengthens some CGs even further and again touches up others, when you arrive in the circular room for example spikes appear in the ceiling and Laura has to scramble to find the switch to deactivate them. It also comes with a bonus disc of extras and a soundtrack mini-CD, and if you complete the game and collect all the beetles a trailer for the canned M2 version of D2 plays.
I think some thread pruning is called for. These one work posts or pointless posts are getting a bit annoying now.
I remember the game manual suggested using headphones in a dark room when playing. It rly upped the scare factor.
