One of my mates has the Korg DS-10 synth for the DS and he's rather impressed with it. Any of you guys have it? Anyway, check this video of a DS rendition of Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
Good stuff, I wish someone would bring out some decent synth software for the PSP though. There is a Daft Punk beatbox homebrew for the PSP though which is quite cool for a 5 minutes of fun, or having a conversation with people through the language of daft punk.
One title I had to search high and low to buy in a shop in Japan, but finally found one in mint condition in a Book Off... it's nice and really works well with the DS. It wouldn't work on the PSP as it does make good use of the touch screen, I would imagine on the PSP it would be throw the PSP at the wall time... You are limited to 2 (or 6 if you make use of the drum channels, but these are limited) channels and 16 patterns (with songs being 99 patterns long), although using more DS units you can link them up and create songs with larger number of channels, or increase the pattern size to 30 with clever editiing. It's a great piece of music software, although has limitations. Now if only they had released a MIDI interface...
I've got it. It's pretty neat, but with no real way to perform with it other than little cheesy things, I never use it. I hate youtube.
Depends on what he means by "decent", there's "have fun playing around with for a bit" and "full-featured, programmable" like the DS-10. Even if it does sound like poop.
tbh I'd not even considered it as I saw the name Timbaland on it and immediately disregarded it - on closer inspection its not what I'm after. What I'm after is synth emulation akin to DS-10, but perhaps a bit more studio orientated (I've not used DS-10, but thats the impression I get - is there no ability to transfer midi data?). I guess theres little commercial call for such stuff, but some homebrew solution would be viable? Something like a vst host would be cool? Don't know how realistic that could be, but it'd be very cool. I guess stuff like that would be a bit of a ballache to use on a PSP, but I always feel like doing synth stuff when I'm on a train etc. On the subject could anyone reccommend any sequencers/synths etc (homebrew or otherwise) for the PSP - I've only recently got my psp cracked and have been too busy playing PS1 games to look beyond Rhythm and Xdrum
I Can't personally stand Timbaland , because of the Janne Suni Case and his so-called "music" I think my own farts are musical, than Timbalands music.
My taxi driver a few weeks back had this and was chatting away to me about music. He stopped at some traffic lights and threw his DS into the back and said "Have a go mate!" so I sat playing tunes all the way to my destination. Best taxi ride ever! I say they should fit them as standard.
