Now i went onto Parcel2go in order to get a delivery set up for an ebay item i sold but i couldn't pay becuase paypal wasn't working right and their live help wasn't helpful so i decided to try interparcel which ended up in me getting a limited account notice.

I need to get my account back to 100% in order to send an item as paypal in the only place where i have money right now but whatever i did earler means i can't get the phone validation and all i get is Validate your account information by post but i don't know how long that'll take.

Does anyone know how to change the validation to phone or will i have to wait till i get something in the post from paypal??

Is it not possible to just call paypal direct and ask their customer support?

I've had nothing but trouble with PP recently. For some reason they have changed their policy so that I will only receive payment for the items I've sold once positive feedback has been left or no action has been taken against me within 21 days after the auction end.

It makes me wonder what will happen if people do leave neutral or neg feedback.

Anyway back on topic. I would try phoning customer services. How did your account go to limited?

I was trying to order a DHL delivery from Parcel2go.com but paypal wasn't letting me do anything so i then tried interparcel.com and it asked me to login more than once so my account got limited.

I've done everything else they wanted and was going to use the phone activation as you a get a quick automated call of somesorts giving you a PIN number i believe to enter on the paypal website or something like that but i did something and now all i get is activation by post which they say could take upto 2 weeks.

No the transaction would go thusly:

    Payment initiated.

    PayPal debits card.

    Card declined.

    Payment halted.

Unless you're going to keep selling and keep currency in your PayPal, you NEED a bank account or a credit card. And in the UK, a bank account means you have a debit card.

Right, has your PayPal account been limited because you got a message back from them suggesting 'Fraudulent or 3rd party activity' ?

Just spit it out, we all know you well enough (Senior Ronaldo Briggs!)

When that happens payments get suspended, any purchases get halted unless sent prior to the limiting of the account and PayPal 'review' the account.

During this 'review' they give you a set of instructions to follow, but from what you are saying ('I did something' - which is as vague as hell) you goosed then PIN number process up! How? It's an automated telephone number and you just have to punch the PIN into the phone and bingo!

So, given that you are a butterfingers, you apparently screwed that part of it up, right? It takes between 24 & 48 hours to return your account to normal after you give them that PIN number, it's not instant!

There is a telephone number you can call (in the 'Contact Us') section and they will assist (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - assist - ha ha ha!)

Remember, this is PayPal and assist tends to mean 'annoy / frustrate / ignore'. You'll probably be asked to provide proof of identity, address and bank details. This tends to be by fax to them.

You need to pester these people. Call them. Fax whilst on the 'phone (i.e. stand faxing the material to them as you are on another line and make sue they actually get the faxes - apparently they are notorious for not getting the damned things and not warning you that it never got through!)

Once they have your proof, call them every 24 hours until they resolve your account!

Right here is what happened. After i tried to pay for a delivery with interparcel my account got limited.

I changed my password and security questions and was going to do the phone validation thing but i clicked on the wrong link by mistake and now it the one to set up validation by post which they have down as can take 2 weeks and not the phone validation which takes less than 5 minuites that i get.

Normally i'd use my bank account's debit card but at the moment its got nothing in it so that not an option.

I sent an email to paypal and they claim that i tried phone activation which failed and i have to wait to get the validation letter in the post.

How could it fail, the number i have down in paypal is my home number and i never even got them ring that number becuase i had clicked on a link by mistake which took me to the page when you want to validate your account by post.

I guess i can't do nothing till a get a letter from paypal.

You can't do nothing? Wow, a double negative! So you can do something? :110:

So what you're saying is you had money in your PayPal account but not in your bank account? Why didn't you just transfer funds from PayPal to your bank account? I never leave funds in PayPal in case something happens to my account. And for the sake of 50p, it's worth doing (unless you have over the min. then it's free).

The reason the money was not in my bank account is becuase i had just recieved the money for an ebay item i had sold so i had it in my paypal less than hour and i was using some of the funds to get a delivery ordered for the item i sold.

Yeah I do that too, I use the PayPal balance to pay for deliveries and the monthly fees, so I leave a little in the account each time. Saves hassle plus you have better proof of postage if you can turn to PayPal and say 'I don't need to provide a fax, just look at it in my account'.

If ever the day arises! ;-)

I can see the point in limiting accounts if thousands of pounds are being used without a valid reason and some details are uncomfirmed but all i wanted to do was use their service as its intended which i believe is to pay for goods and services online.
