OK, to start, this is NOT ahentai thread, k?

The thing is, I was goin trought some DC games the other day and I saw skies of arcadia. Im not a fan of RPGs, so when the thing came I didnt bother to play it, mostly becos the graphics were far from incredible, even for the time being.

The thing is, I was lured to the game mainly by the anime girls (specially the redhead) in the cover. Now I ask myself, why the anime girls have to be so cute? now Im off to college and every girl, even the prettier ones, look like crap.

The funny part is that not too long ago I read an article about how jap males are completely alienated with those girls. Now you cant avoid the fact that the desing in most female anime characters is quite appealing, to the point of creating a complete obssesion in some individuals.

Im not an anime freak, I have never downloaded an anime, nor post posters of the that kind in my bedroom. So, in other words, Im what youll call a non-otaku.

Yet, I cant stop thinking in those super-cute girls. With japanese pop culture expanding trough the western world is just a matter of time for commercials done with anime, playboy been outselled by a hentai magazine or anime movies been top blockbusters.

From the psychological point of view, this girls WERE created to cast an obsession in the viewers. Is not that is something completely bad, most of the pictures in playboy and other mens magazines are photoshoped to the xtreme, so in some way, those are imaginary, non-existant women too, like the anime girls.

Conclusion: its obvious that the exagerated "cuteness" in anime girls is a marketing strategy, just like models are here. Using anime girls instead of models would be in fact, a feminist decision, becos models are already responsible for much of the teen girls anorexia epidemic we see today. On the other hand, no matter what you do you cant look like an anime, so that may stop the womens obsession to look like models do.

But as we`ve seen on japanese males, this girls induce you to a state of obsession and alienate you from the real world, becos no matter how far you go, you wont find a girl as cute as an anime.

So.................you know what? fuck this, theres no solution, and Im not playin a RPG no matter how cute the girls are. Action games rule!

As you say there is only one reason anime girls look like they do - and that is because tey look sexy to most guys, and to guys, sexiness sells! (and of course to some women and not all men, but we won't go into that here, this is just a useful generalisation!)

So yes tey are hot, but they aren't real, ad the reason they are sexamaholic? because it makes companies money!

The new college I'll be going to to start on my architecture degree next year, I visited the place and throughout most of the tour, I just had to sit down if you catch my drift ;-). On top of that, most colleges have more women than men attending ;-).
