    Hello everyone,

I am a video game chaser/collector from the south of England, UK.

There is not much in the way of Nintendo down here and as such, my Nintendo games are mainly ones which I have kept since my childhood. Except Banjo Tooie which I sold, (had to get that out of the way, annoys me all the time).

I never cared about my games, they were just in a cupboard unplayed, then within 9-10 months I collected maybe 800-900 games. I buy games from Ebay if they work out to be £1-£2 each but I love the thrill of the hunt. There is NOTHING satisfying about buying individual games from Ebay, there is also no point in sealed games in my eyes.

I don't collect consoles because I don't have room for them, I'm not the kind of person who has to have figurines and every pube and fart the developers let out of the studio.

That was a joke no offense :p I admire the lengths people go to to obtain every item related to their console, big respect for some people on this site.

I plan on having a big collection but I don't have aims for fullsets.

    SO LET'S BEGIN

Bookcase 1, purchased from Argos, such a crap nailing job by me but the games cover it up :p

Bookcase 2, from Ikea, much sturdier

Bookcase 3, the big box bookcase, me and Dad made this using melamine chipboard (nasty cheap stuff) for the sole purpose of housing my many old PC games which come in the big cardboard boxes.

Next up are the Nintendo shelves, as aforementioned Nintendo stuff is very hard to come by where I live so my collection is small and humble but contains many gems

So those are all the sections of my game collection, now let's look at the collection individually.

Starting with my favourite console the Sega Megadrive, there are SO MANY Megadrive games to buy, there are literally hundreds which I still need.

Next up is another favourite from my childhood, the N64, I remember watching Pokemon Stadium on the TVs at woolworths as a child, i had to get it, i didn't get a pokemon stadium edition as i couldn't get one/didnt exist whatever i don't know

but i did get the system with pokemon stadium, happiest day of my life!!

    [IMG][IMG]

Now is my Gameboy collection which has been fairly easy to collect for, I could never have one as a child as we couldn't afford much at all, I played Pokemon Red on a friend's gameboy and that was it, so now im overcompensating.

Now onto my largest collections, Ps1 and Ps2. I'm not sure how many games I have for each.
I used to buy 4-5 PS2 games at a time from CEX and other places so i had about 50 of these before I started collecting. They were pretty cheap and this was years before I started going to car boot sales for games

Take a look, there are many great and rare classic games in there but of course I am missing probably a comfortable 100-150
that I intend on buying when I come across them.

next up, the easiest games to get hold of, PC games in DVD cases.

Here is my Command & Conquer collection, I'm not really fussed about adding to it,

I'm also a fan of RTS games,

One genre of games which I love is the HORROR genre. I haven't played many lately but I still love them and don't have
too many left which I want to collect!

    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

Yes I know I said I see no point in sealed games but have Silent Hill: Origins sealed but when the game is going for £20 used and you see it brand new for £10 you can't not buy it!

Now for some modern stuff, PS3, blurays which aren't games but some of you may appreciate them, and of course my boxes.

Dreamcast. Dreamcast is a pretty cool guy, commerically fails and isn't afraids of anything.
the game out of shot is phantasy star online

    AND FINALLY, THE STARSHIP ENTERPRISE

Thank you ladies and gentlemen one and all, for reading this thread about my dark obsession with video games.

Which is why I created this, my website, my darkplace.

    http://www.dantesdarkplace.weebly.com

I have pictured every single one of my games and accessories and they are under game collection, check out the other sections of my site too.
    Blogs, videos, video reviews etc

Taking a break now to sort some stuff out and need to buy some equipment but I'll be back in full force bringing you PS1 video reviews!

I will keep collecting until I die, in my will a good decision will be made about what to do with these games so I can live on in another form and they can be put to good use. You see games are to be enjoyed, I don't have people coming round to play these with me so they are mostly unplayed.

I collect for nostalgia, for investment and out of sheer fun. One day I shall have one of the world's biggest game collections, watch this space.

Wow I got a comment xD

Thanks dude, it's in it's infancy but it's sure to grow! I may be adding some more Japanese Megadrive games soon as well as more Megadrive goodness which means Dreamcast will have to move over :p

Golden Sun, Kirby, Bomberman! Those are games I would want boxed too :congratulatory:

Wait, Command AND Conquer? You can do both? That is one absolutely kick-ass Command & Conquer collection though.
I've been looking for the BIG BOX versions of Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge for a while now.
Keep up the excellent work, have you got lots and lots of storage space there?

    Thanks dude :)

Funny thing is Golden Sun was a christmas present and I didn't keep it complete being as young as I was, WHERE IS THE MAP? :(

I remember playing that from 9pm-4am on a school night.

As for the command and conquer collection it's funny how I'm missing those too, :/
As for storage space the big box pc games go in that bookcase made specifically for the big box pc games, the DVD command and conquer games go in the bookcase with my PC gamesand the CD case command and conquer games are the ones you see in my TV unit.

I have a very packed cupboard with a couple hundred more games which aren't pictured, as for space I'm running out fast my collection has to come to a grinding halt.

So no I don't have a lot of space but remember if you quad-stack your games on the bottom shelf of your bookcase and store the other games normally, in a 2 metre high bookcase you can easily fit 300 games :D

So I really don't know what's going to happen in the future I have like 100 DVDs, 100s of comics, about 100 annuals from comics, I just have no room to expand my collection. I'm probably going to store anything new that I buy in boxes and then continue displaying games once I move out.

Who knows how long it will take me to get my own place, so I've collected for 10 months and now it has to end, pretty sad really!

Hahaha, never give up on the dream to collect for bookshelves that have not yet been manufactured. 300 per shelf seems insane!
Although looking at mine now I guess it would be possible - don't tempt me though... I'm a hardware collector, not a games one... too many games...!
And don't worry, when you do get your own place you'll run out of space too :boxing: There just isn't enough room ever!

That map is pretty important if you need to know where you are going! Especially if you are in a flying boat and are running low on magic powers that make you fly...
Or was that The Lost Age? Either way keep at it! Great collection!

yeh that was for the lost age :)

Actually 200 per shelf but that's only what's quad stacked on the bottom shelf, the rest are 50, so that's 500 per bookcase but yeh you're right there's never enough room, I even heard of people who have 2 rooms for their game collection.

It is such an obsessive, dark hobby/habit xD
