if i wanted to buy a copy of this game complete pal (well only released in the uk anyway) how much would this set me back assumeing i could find a copy £100,£200,£300,£400,£500,£600,£700+ something around thoes above figures, or more? Ben
£700+ for a nice copy. Although there are probably more Darxides known than Euro TM or PR, its a great game, pal exclusive, more desirable than the other 2. Good luck finding a copy (unless you're fishing for a sale value, in which case shame on you).
Trivia : David Brabham wrote the game for the 32X/Megadrive hybrid, the Neptune and was upset when it was canceled.
Ive never heard of this game before. Just looked at a few vids on Youtube, very impressive. What makes it so rare...how many were made?
It got released towards the end of the 32X era, I still have a magazine review from 1996. Ratings pended between 30 and 75%, I guess its rarity is just because of bad timing. On the Saturn markets peak of success in Europe one should not release a game for the predecessor which is hardly accessible.
Not an awful lot were made, it was only PAL and only sold in a few countries. Not many people had the 32X here, it was too damned expensive! Those who have the game hold on to it. It's actually pretty good. Loose copies turn up now and then and tend to be a LOT cheaper than a nice minty boxed one.
Trivia : Some dirty long hair got me a freebie ticket to a DB talk where he signed my sealed copy. Cheers Jamtex! And as Retro says loose copies can be found much cheaper..anywhere from £80-250.
Well, considering smurfs travel the world was released for the master system at the same period, it was not THAT bad timing lol
never knew of this title actually, but since i don't own a 32X, might I ask if this game has been dumped?
I am a 2D shooter fan and I think while Sapphire itself is rather a mediocre game, the technical aspect is just so amazing that it makes it worth playing. At least I couldn't let my fingers off it when I once had the chance to play a few rounds. Simply awesome to look at and thus well worth its money IMO (at least to some fan who loves to see what the tiny PCE was able to produce). Game mechanics are basic, but if you can cope with that, its fine. As for Darxide, errr, maybe just for collectors I tried it but like with almost every polygon 3D-32X-game I couldn't get warm with it at all.
yea its a mega rare game, i could flash the rom to my mdpro 64mbit cart, but whats the point its not the same as owning the game also any idear on a price of other rare pal one 32x game i forget the name Ben
There are two others, really ;-) Oh, and check the rules - if you want a price check, there are proper channels in which to request them. This isn't the correct place.
was Darxide 32X ever released under a different title? I'm sure I've seen that astriod Sega logo somewhere else. yakumo
