For my website's database I'm using mediawiki, it's very customizable and easy to use if you have some PHP knowledge.

If it's just general purpose, get XAMPP (windows) or LAMPP (linux).
All you need running from it is apache & mysql, then visit http://127.0.0.1/phpmyadmin

    It's got a good GUI.

You could go for a mediawiki anyway, and use Appserv or other to set up a local Apache and MySQL server.

Just use MS Access if you want a personal database.

I wrote something like this in VB6 a while back just for a 10 minute project, uses an Access database. If you want I can try to dig it out tomorrow and send it to you. Doesn't have an import facility, although I could add one to it.

If it is for personal use Access would be a nice start.

Collectorz looks cool, but does it allow to add consoles and accesories? I know that seems dumb, but I've been told that by default it's thought only for software.
