is this rare as I haven't seen one although it must released in Japan given there are at least two black DC - R7 JPN and Sports Edition US? also how much do I expect to pay if I could find one? cheers
Also the Super Black LE DC (JPN). I doubt it runs much more than a normal or clear keyboard. I bought a Black BBA (didn't even know they existed) and it ran the same as the normal colored one.

Neogeoman had one with a VMU for ~$75.
It was released to coincide with the Limited edition Super Black Dreamcast. As well as a black VM and Black BBA adapter as mentioned. usually sells ( new) for around 20-30 UK pounds in Japan.
