Somebody i know is gonna be in the UK (Cambridge) soon, and i asked him to look for DC games. Can people from the UK tell me what DC games are the easy ones (if there are any) to find and what their averages prices are? He isnt into DC so he would know what a bargain or a rip-off would be. So i would like to give him some facts to go by. So any info (especially out of the Cambridge area) is welcome :smt023
I'm in Peterborough (in Cambridgeshire). Not been to Cambridge in ages, but apparently there's a lovely import shop with loads of Saturn games and Anime. Anyways, over here, DC games aren't worth anything. You should be able to pick up most games for £10 or much less. I've seen SoulCalibur for £2 in Tesco's bargainbin. But then, it depends what games you're after. Finding good ones is hard. Gamestation is the only place in P'Boro that still sells DC games. The other 3 games shops are crap anyway (and that includes Game:Sponsored by Sony). But GS has a (very) small selection. Unless you can find a small independent game store that sells imports, finding anything other that PS1/2, Xbox, GC and GBA is a mission. So um, I'll find out off my mate where this import shop is in Cambridge. Will let u know tomorro.
I'm not sure about Cambridge, but I pick up a lot of games in Cash Converters or Cash Generators (pawn shops) here in Manchester. Got 11 DC games for £20 the other day. Only other place to get DC stuff is GameStation...
Dreamcast games in the UK In the Leeds branch of Computer Exchange, there is a poster from the Dreamcast launch promotion that has been modified by staff to inform customers that the console IS 128-bit and that the store still supports its games - both PAL and import NTSC (Japanese or American). However, they've recently scaled down their collection a bit and I haven't checked in a few weeks to see what they have left. At one point they had Ikaruga in stock, but they were charging just under £80 for it. Still, who can complain when it's factory sealed and with the original obi strip? I'm sure there are collectors out there that would die for such an item, which may explain why it's nowhere to be found in the store anymore! Game has recently started selling second-hand (reconditioned) Saturn games again, and already their collection is rivalling those for the Dreamcast, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation! I'm not sure about GameStation, as they seem to have Dreamcast games one day and then none the next sometimes - my going in and buying up their entire stock (of both Dreamcast and the rarer Saturn titles, plus the occasional MegaDrive cart) nearly every time I am there doesn't have anything to do with this, of course! It's good to see that a lot of places are still supporting Sega's hardware, though I'm more interested to see for how long they can continue - some places still have MegaDrive games readily available, so maybe we haven't quite seen the last of the company's presence just yet?
Re: Dreamcast games in the UK Lucky For some people ^_^ Up here in Scotland my local GAME have stopped Accepting trade-ins with any games pre-PS2....which means no chance of any older games appearing for me to buy anymore :smt022 I could go to Glasgow and get older games though....but at extortionate prices. *hates living here*
Never knew you were in Scotland Deathcoaster,I live in this depressing country too.There is a gamestation here in Livingston that sells a small selection of dreamcast games,at low prices,has some nice console bundles for dc too,used dc vmu's at 99p,pads at 1.99 too.
The two places in cambridge to get dreamcast games is Gamestation and a small indie shop called gametron. Gametron has alot of japanese/import games behind the counter, although you will need to ask about them since they are not displayed. Gametron has a huge selection, although they are a little more expensive

Deathcoaster, Nintendomad - If you're ever in Glasgow, then you might try Union Street in Glasgow(next to Central Station). A Gamestation has opened a few shops away from G-Force and they are competing against each other. Gamestation has about 80 DC games. From 2.99 to ~20 quid. They have boxed PlanetRings for 9.99 and loads of boxed DC controllers for 4.99. G-Force has about 20-30 DC games slightly dearer than Gamestation. Gamestation has alot of retro stuff - consoles and games. Also Toyrus in Govan (and presumbly elsewhere) are selling some GC games cheap brand new sealed - Eternal Darkness - 9.99, Baldur Gate - 9.99 etc.

I was in a Gamestation in Hereford recently (near the Welsh border). Last time I was there I nabbed Sega Rally Saturn, boxed and complete, for 25 pence. Bargain. I also picked up Gunbird 2 DC for something under a fiver, not a great price but I've been after it for a little while. This time I got boxed copies of Starwing and Stunt Race FX, for a fiver each. Again not stunning but pretty good. I was marginally tempted by a boxed N64, for £16, as I'm sure I could blag them for a game or two to go with it cheap. Aside from that though, there was about 30 unboxed Megadrive carts, mostly sports games, all £2. Same for SNES, a few more for N64 (for a bit more cash), quite a selection of boxed games but at prices above what I'd want to be paying. Games for all systems were pretty much what you'd expect to pay on Ebay plus a few quid. Sonic and Knuckles for a tenner... meh...
should have crossed the border, picked up sega rally for 20p in gamestation in Swansea. (for those who aren't that good at maths, that's a whopping 5p difference!!!) Rich
