As far as i know the only next-gen console that has an adapter to use the dreamcast controllers is for the x-box.

I just had alook at lik-sang the have tons of converters but none that will let you use dreamcast pads on ps2, only ones that let you use a ps2 pad on a dreamcast funny ennough.

Well, I've looked around, and have found nothing.
Next question -- what would entail making one? Not necessarily a converter, but hacking the lead and making a DC stick a PS/PS2 only stick?

That actually looks very informative. Thanks!
I guess I open up an old Playstation controller, grab the PCB, stick in the DC stick, and figure out what leads go where.

If any of you other people most likely far more familiar in electronics than I have anything to add, knock yourself out!

  5. Are you modding the green-buttoned official arcade stick? Because if so, it should be even easier than NFGman's tutorial - you'd actually want to look at this instead if you want to just throw in a PSX PCB. This is, of course, assuming your DC arcade stick has semi-authentic arcade-style switches on the buttons.

  6. I don´t think DC arcade stick has microswitches on the buttons I know the Jstick has switches, too much work if you ask me, its not like its that superior compared to PS2 arcade sticks, the Hori ones are great. Check here http://www.shoryuken.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?forumid=177 some people did what you want to do but they also changed the stick and buttons to sanwa :smt023

From all the Japanese sites I've read, the buttons on the DC Arcade Stick are totally fine -- it's the stick that's just laughable. Every stick on the PS2 (including Sega's VF4 sticks, and Hori's) are equally crap I've read.

I've stated elsewhere, but button layout is #2 on the list of importance to me, and a good stick being the first. Makes the Hori out of the question, unfortunately.

I've got the Soul calibur II hori stick and it's not bad especially if you consider that they are fairly cheap.

Well, I just swapped the crappy stick w/ a Sanwa stick. Everything works perfectly, except my screws are WAAAAY too big. Gotta get more tomorrow. Then, I'll shut the stick, and that will be the end of it. It is, quite nice.

I'd love to find a way to take the buttons out and paint the cover. I'd do it, but I have no way of printing anything, so what's the point. :)
