Ok folks. I decided to start this thread with the purpose to make it as a journal. Don't expect much from it though. It will be a work in progress, and so I will report and update any news once in a while.

    -Day 1-
Today arrived in the mail, 2 broken Dreamcasts I've ordered from a portuguese online auction site for a mere 12€ including free shipping. It was bought as is condition and supposedly they turn on.
I will test them myself later and see what I can get out of them.
They're in really nasty condition, hell I never seen such badly treated consoles with my own eyes ever!:moody: So dirty and scratched that it hurts to look at.
I intend to give them live again. I have a couple ideas, but I'll talk about them in a later post.
Now I'm opening them to see how crappy they are inside :( Since I have no sunlight to take any good shots right now, I will upload some shots on the following days.

    First impressions:
One of the dc's power's up and shows nothing on screen, while the second one has its psu busted and even with a replaced one the dc won't power up.

    Fun facts:
Both are supposedly the same model dreamcasts (although they have been heavily opened and abused by previous owner, which explains the awful job done to both the gd-rom drives which are completely broken), one of these dcs has a metal fan and a different controller port board (green one). I didn't know metal fan dcs were released in Europe..

    What's working outside the box:
    -both motherboards
    -1 power supply
    -fans

What's not working but is easily repairable:
    -both controller boards

    What's completely wasted:
    -both gd-rom drives
    -1 power supply
