I'm curious if anyone remembers this little gem from way back in the day: http://hitmen.c02.at/html/dc_ddh.html I remember when Hitmen released it it blew my mind (and still does actually), and then it faded into obscurity. It's a bit of a long shot but I thought I would see if anyone had any more information or was in touch with the Hitmen/Napalm guys. I would love to know the specifics or get a copy of the loader/ROM if it anyone has it.
It would be cool to see something like this done using the Raspberry Pi's GPIO pins and the console's serial port. Potentially impossible, but perhaps in addition to connecting to PC, and spoofing a Dreamcast development software into using a retail console as a development unit
Years ago I researched a lot for new information about it, but looks like it is just part of the Dreamcast's history now...
The only thing I can tell you about all this is that on the DDH website there is a screenshot of the Dreamcast menu with some debug info and This can be easily activated on most if not all bootROM (bios) versions. I have enabled it on my first custom version just to see what it looks like. Well nothing amazing, really. Just some debug info, no interaction. If you want I can share that. Thanks for bring that topic, it's definitely good old time!
Ah thank you, I might get in touch at some point if I need some help. It is too bad this never got released, it was truly groundbreaking for the time IMO but I understand no wanting to kick a half-assed product out the door. Regardless, I think the Hitmen crew was one of the most talented I ever saw in that era. Much props to them.
