So the DDH I got came without ram, yet on the top of the case it says "48 MB". So is there another place on the board the ram can be and if not, will it work fine without.

If it won't work fine and there is no other place on the board for the ram, does anyone know what type it takes? And as a side request if anyone has a Dolphin Manual for the different dev consoles it's be appreciated. Thanks!

There isn't supposed to be a stick of RAM in that slot. Comparing your internals to my two DDH's, the only thing that seems to be missing/out of place is the cable for the serial port. I can't tell from the photo if your DDH is missing the cable, or if it is just obscured, though I'm leaning toward missing. Other than that, your DDH looks fine. The lack of a functioning serial port should only effect your unit's ability to debug as far as I'm aware, it shouldn't have any effect on its ability to run software.

EDIT: Hope you have a Marlin card as well though, without it the DDH is little more than a very large paperweight. Though they do look mighty nice on a shelf too.
