Dead PS2 tool

Hi guys

Got my 2nd PS2 tool through the post today and it seems its dead on arrival, tried the thing on about 5 different screens cant get it to output any thing and non of the lights flash.

Stink man you must be gutted. I'm still pissed that my first one doesn't work properly.

tried all nope nada still no bios or ps2screen

 

just hooked a ethernet up to it and there is just nothing atall comeing from it i guess its dead

 

Did you connect your monitor to the VGA port (PC-side)?

 

I didn't want to mention that, he said it was his second one and I just assumed he already knew what he was doing.

 

The video is too dark, I can't see if anything is plugged in the SBC...

Just a quick one, it sounds the fans speed up and run at max? Is this just a false impression by the video or correct? If the fans are running at max level all the time, could you check the cpu's cooler and cables fitted right?

 

I will buy it off of you if it is faulty. I would have a go at fixing it.

I would love a PS2 TOOL. Really want to learn some programming and get into Linux more.

I would not let it sit on the shelf and act as a collector item. I would really use the thing.

 

its all connected up properly, double checked about 90 times tried both vgas. tried sshing telnetting anything to get it to connect. yeah the fans are 100% thats what tools do from what ive experienced. i know i have lovely toes right XD. na i wont sell it il probs return it to the guy i got it from

 

Do you have a replacement RAM to try it with? (EDO/FPM or PC100/133 SDRAM depending of your SBC model)

 

He wasn't asking if anyone wants to buy it, he's asking for help in getting it going. Do you have to stick your nose into every thread where it's not needed??

 

^^ ps2guy has been upgraded from rival to friend now for that XD. i dont think the ram is a problem as its just dead it dosnt even display bios i guess something got bashed pretty hard in transit

I would try it anyway, I have had computers that have had black screen with no bios and replaced the ram and away it went. I would maybe look at the processor as well.

yeah ps2guy back when you first joined i was competing agenst your post count XD.

but the pc side seems dead. dont worry im just gonna send it back to the guy i got it from its not worth my time really

 

I would check the processor, as in replace it.

I did not know that.

Can I ask what you paid for it, and how much if you wanted to sell it would you let it go for??

Maybe we could come to some arrangement instead??
