(Yes this was the build found on Ebay) 2006/06/30 - Microsoft confidential Preview This build is now as close as it can get to the final game while still containing visual differences. This beta was likely intended to Test / Preview the game before launch, but it is also speculated that it may have been used to demo the game to some press/reviewers during some unknown convention. The game boots using the ESRB splash logo just like the E3 build, which the final does not. The main menu has slight text location changes and a few cut scenes have lighting differences. Most noticeable difference is the lag during the loading screens, visible by the spinning globe. This build contains ONE debug feature as far as i can tell. If you hold RB,RT,LB,LT for 3 seconds a guide dialog comes up with the choice to exit to the title screen OR keep playing. This feature was also in the E3 build before this. Another difference is when the game fades out due to returning to the title screen, it genuinely fades out (very similar to the DEMO) Unlike in the final game where it quickly cuts to a black loading screen. It's unknown how many copies of this disc exist in the wild but its possible mine is the only one. When the game boots up, you see the ESRB message, which does not show for the final game. Here is the main menu which for whatever reason shows the Gamertag placement/location being slightly different from the retail game. It lines up with the "L" in the level text, where as in the final game it's shoved to the left most side of the box... Here is the 'Return to Title Screen' Debug feature, which has of course been removed from the final game. It's the same one that was in the E3 2006 build as shown before. It can be opened by holding down "LB,LT,RB,RT" for around 2~ seconds. It also gives you the function to 'Continue playing', which is the same as just closing the guide. Although the changes are very minimal, various cutscenes had a few lighting changes. Here are a few of them:
