Ok i got this 32X for a few bucks and it was sold to me as is, without cables and such but after i opened it it had a lot of wiring in it that should not be there (i think) and some pins are missing and such.

here are some photo,s i marked the weird wires with red circles i have no cables (yet) to test this one out but maybe someone know what these extra cables do? maybe an region mod or a failed 50/60hz mod or something?

the metal around the cart slot is on backwards, unscrew and flip 180 and that takes are of 4 of your circles.

Wires look stock. resistors are additional

i just googled for open 32x pictures and your right bad those wires are stock i have seen other pictures with them in there weird but true :) then i think it could only be those loose pins ? i have pulled out the 3 pins that where loose (the solder was all gone) but they are all wrangeld up can some one help me getting a picture of the shape a normal pin should look like so i can try and place the pin back?

Do you still need the picture? I could take a close up of the pins in my 32x that works

Those wires are normal, electronic devices often get small modifications to the design due to part source changes overlooked design flaws etc. It is often cheaper to put in a small wire than to remake the board layout due to a single floating ground that may only need to be fixed to satisfy the FCC. Most Sega addons have this on a significant portion of units sue to Sega constantly revising the hardware. Among Sega CD units I have personally seen over 20 different revisions, most of them being due to small changes like this. Before you go too far grab a Sega Genesis cart and make sure the pass thru works, And make note of the pairs of double-sided ribbon cables, they are very prone to connector creep. The other common problem is the usual power circuit issues.

thx all for your reactions but i still need the picture if anyone could help but i need the shape of a loose pin instead of the connector i have 3 pins that where loose so i puled them out but they are mangled beyond normal so i hoped i could find the rough shape of 1 loose pin so i can bend them back into shape? and solder them in place?

How do you expect someone to get that? remove one of theirs?

Why dont you just remove one of your other pins and use that as a guide

thanks for the info that would be a good idea but i hoped someone would have replaced or removed them earlier from there sega device and they maybe had some pictures laying around instead of me having to desolder 1 of my pins but thx for the advice

Pins aren't supposed to come out - certainly not through the top. If you managed to get it out that way, it's more than likely broken beyond repair.

I would suggest replacing the whole edge connector.

ok that clears up my question lol but then the second question would arise is the pin connector the same as a megadrive pin connector ? if so could i swap out the pin connector from a megadrive to a 32x? and if not can anyone help me to a link where i can get a new/refurbished pin connector that should fit?
