If you get it working, I'll definitely be getting some of these.

    Not bad at all!

My Teensy 2.0 ++ arrived just like two weeks ago, man I could have saved $8. : ) Seems cheap enough that buying one just in case might be a good idea.

    Regards,

    npt

I would rather get an avr xplain. They are like $40 but the specs are pretty solid.

agreed, i bought serveral things from dealextreme,, and i must say worst quality ever. You will be wasting your money. Plus if you live in the US, it takes forever to get your item processed + shipped. I wanted a damn usb charger for my PSP, took about 2 months to get processed (they held on to my money during that time) then i had to email them and they finally gave me a shipping tracker. Which by the time i got the charger, i had bought one at the store. when i got it, it was really poor. It took about 5 hours to get a 20% charge + you had to bend it in a certain way to get any connection. Just too much of a hassle to ask for another.

Dealextreme products are hit and miss. I've bought from them so far:

    1) R4 clone for a DS (seems to be working fine)
    2) 6 bamboo in a bottle things that fit on a keychain (all of them died but I'm not surprised given how difficult bamboo can be to grow)
    3) PCI card for diagnostics (tried it once and the code was less than helpful)

And probably a few other things I'm forgetting about. Some crappy watch got shipped to me by mistake once and after a few pictures proving what I said was true they shipped out the correct item and let me keep the watch. Not sure what I did with it.

I'd be tempted to try this out if it proves to have a decent build quality.

Deal Extreme is not really a "Deal" since you get what you pay for. If your looking for a quick fix, they usually have what gets it done. If you want something that lasts, look elsewhere.

Dealextreme is fine, if you stick to the inofficial dealextreme rules:

    1. Don't buy anything > $30. It won't ever be as good as you expect it, so you'll waste money. For everything <= $30 you don't expect much anyway, so if it turns out to be even worse, then well, it's only a few bucks.
    2. Remove all occurrences of "genuine" before parsing the item descriptions
    3. Pipeline requests. Since shipping takes ages, your best bet is to keep ordering things, for example weekly. After a certain latency, you'll get a fancy item weekly.
    4. If you get the wrong item, don't complain, just re-order the item again. I once got 10 laserpointers instead of 10 crocodile clips, so i just ordered the clips again. Chances are 50:50 that you'll be lucky when getting the wrong item - that's not too bad. Again, stick to rule #1 so your worst case loss is limited.
    5. Be aware that discussions and comments are censored to only positive reviews.

my main thing when ordering from DX is keeping in mind that if you need the item NOW, go somewhere else, cuz you'll be waiting a bit

I've ordered from DX probably somewhere around 50 times by now. Any and every time I have gotten a damaged/doa or incorrect item (once got a 2gb mem stick pro that was really only 1gb) they have resolved it in a timely manner.

Any time I had to ship something back they covered the shipping, sometimes they just let me keep the damaged/wrong items and still shipped out a replacement and a couple times just let me keep it and refunded me.

And really there are tons of negative feedback on their site so I'm not sure I believe they filter out peoples comments/reviews/feedback.
