For years now, I've ordered my phones from DX. Mainly to avoid fakes, and quick shipping times. However, lately I've had my phone sent by the wrong method. Which took 3 days to get back to DX to arrange another shipping method through NL post. Annoying thing is, it took NL 4 days to even start shipping the package. So much for the 5-10 days timeframe lol. I should probably complain to them, maybe small coupon would make up for the mess around. I only hope (considering the package has gone back and forth) that it's not damaged.
you consider 5-10 days shipping from DealExtreme to be bad???? I don't think I've ever bought something from them and had it take less than a month
I haven't ordered from DX for years. Much of the stuff they offer on DX I can find on eBay for the same price or sometimes slightly cheaper. Haven't checked them in a while but it was a decent site.
1-6 weeks is pretty standard from China. Being British, it's not the shipping times that gets me now, it's the bloody exchange rate!!
For phones, I recall etotalk.com being decent (it's been some time since my last order though). DX has pretty much gone to sh-t, their product range honestly never was that great and their prices just have kept going up. These days I mostly buy stuff from AliExpress; for some things (like drones) banggood.com may be even cheaper. eBay usually can't compete wrt prices, so it's mostly for stuff I need somewhat fast (-> "item location" filter); from my experience, almost everything from China takes at least 4-6 weeks, sometimes upward of two months, unless you pay (a lot) more for better shipping.
These aren't multi seller places like DHG, AX or DX, but I like fasttech.com and gearbest.com - efun.top have some ok stuff sometimes too.
The fact it was shipped incorrectly is the annoying part. They should know how to ship things with batteries, not like they've just started business.
Shipping from China no matter who it's from is a joke. The sellers basically bullshit. They tell you the item has shipped and give you a tracking number only for you to wait another 3 weeks before that parcel even hits the post office. Pure bullocks. I can get a parcel from Japan to the UK in 3 days yet a parcel from China to Japan takes a month or more!
Many China ebay sellers sometimes give fake tracking numbers. I ordered PVC tape and it arrived 5 months later. For all I knew it was lost.
Now this is rather interesting... I received the phone today. Was preinstalled with Google Play (which is actually odd considering it's a Chinese phone), Meizu PRO6. So I went ahead put in my details and started downloading apps. Just fine. I unlock the device and I get ad pop ups.. I thought it was a little weird. Just closed it as I thought it was some bloatware being a cunt. Then it kept happening every time I unlocked the phone. So I did a factory reset. Same thing.. I gathered it was a custom ROM that was installed, maybe pre-installed by DX for international customers. But this is where I get suspicious. The sticker to the box of the phone was opened. I gathered it was opened by China post to check for a battery, which I was informed the package was sent back to DX to be reshipped. I didn't take much notice at the time of unboxing the phone because of that. As my thought is a bit farfetched I'm thinking my phone was reflashed during it's transport... No chinese apps were in the firmware at all, even after 10 factory resets (so it was embedded in the ROM). Booted up in English straight away as well. Downloaded the firmware from the official Flyme site, and flashed it. Long behold, no Play Store preloaded. All Chinese apps there and so on. Oh and no fucking Malware. Lucky I have everything on two-step verification now but this is very odd. I feel I should just return the fucking thing and get a refund. I think I've been stuffed around enough and here I was complaining about the shipping. This just tops it off.
