Sega officially has announced Chaos field for Dreamcast next December (Gamecube in February 2005). It will be shown at Tokyo game show. Anyone could get some photos? ;)

    Hi zyloj,

Yes, that's great news for Dreamcast & fans of the genre. A good gift for the DC now that in November will make six years at Japan.

    Too bad

Ah well another shooter. Better than nothing I suppose but it would be nice if they released something different.

Be realistic; they won't. There isn't enough market viability for devcos to release anything more development-intensive than shooters and ports of dating simulations.

I'm personally extremely thankful there are still hi-quality games coming out, and games at all, really. Though I wish it would be delayed until 2005, just to eb able to see a DC game coming out in 2005. ^_^

Can't wait for the SEGA Direct edition. ^_^

  7. As I've been a very good boy this year, I'm sure Santa will bring me a copy of this. Hurrah.

Personally I will never get bored with new shooters for the DC.

something else being released next month.

I've put some very brief impressions of Chaos Fieled on shmups. It's cool and pretty, but not a standard shmup. From what little I've played of it, it's boss fights only... no "stage" if you will. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hmm

That actually sounds interesting for a change as opposed to the standard formula.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Dreamcast is a beast of a system :-D It IS the new Neo Geo !! I can't belive that Sega are still having games released for the Dreamcast. It looks like there will never be a true "LAST DC GAME EVER" game :smt043 That's what well all think every time a new one is released. You can bet you arse that Sega Direct will be doing special sets too. Better get my orders in :smt023

Yeah this is great news for Dreamcast and gaming in general. The Dreamcast does look like sticking around like the Neo Geo did.

I'm sure from what I have heard that this game is like Vertical Force in that you fight on two planes. It has been met with great reception in the arcades. An arcade 50 miles from me is meant to have it and I may pop down to see it at the weekend.

The Dreamcast will live on as long as these releases sell in sufficient numbers and people don't just resort to downloading the games on bittorrent.Support the Dreamcast and BUY this title. There was an article that I read in a trade mag saying Sega would release more titles on the DC in Jpan were the piracy scene not so prevalent in the market nowadays. This article was with Hisao Oguchi(Crazy Taxi producer and former President of Sega). It does after all have a larger user base than the Xbox in Jpan and the Naomi system is still the ps2 of the arcades. It's an easy job converting naomi to DC and GC,it does pose greater problems when doing the transition to PS2, but Sony are not to keen on these releases anyway, look at the problems SNK has had releasing Metal Slug 3 in the USA.
