The worst thing I've recieved was a bottle of Prell shampoo. Looked like a tube of green hair gel... is that stuff even around still? A friend won a radio contest once with his gift. What was it? Matching amethyst necklace and earrings. What did he win? A little vial with a grain of rice inside with "listener of the weak" engraved on it.
Referring to the Newton picture... the later Newtons were *perfect*. I have a Newton eMate 300 and I love the thing. It's better than the Palm OS or Windows CE, honestly. And that was 10 years ago. Even the handwriting recognition was much better. And as far as bad gifts... my family usually picks really well actually. They all know what I like. Unless they try to buy me music... that usually doesn't work out too well.
Mine were all awesome, my mom actually found a Wii, but she also found me an Atari 2600, rofl. With PacMan! Does this count even if I still like it?
I got some pretty amazing presents, trying to think of a dud :katamari: I opend a present containing documents to re-new my passport - pretty crappy present. But then the next 2 were £75 cash to pay for re-newing my passport and then the next present was a Holiday Magazine with a circle round a holiday to Crete!! (they had bought the holiday, not just got me a magazine) thats pretty fantastic  My entery to the comp is Socks with days of the week on them (picture to follow, should be tomorrow)
My employer gifted me with the unexpected and unavoidable knowledge that I would have to cancel my Christmas plans because some other department failed to schedule staff for the day and it fell to me to take up the slack. Finding this out early Christmas morning when I was startled out of a sound sleep by my pager was the icing on the cake. I suppose this is stretching the parameters of the contest, but I did sarcastically refer to it as my "Christmas present" all day. As far as tangible gifts, this year didn't have any duds. But years ago I had a great-grandmother that would me the same exact set of Lincoln Logs and underwear every single year. It wasn't so bad until I was 16. I politely explained that situation to her one year during Thanksgiving and I got some books that year instead. They were pretty good books too.
Of course, the only thing that beats giving a Newton for a Christmas gift is having gotten one. This year. Sorry if the image is a bit too large. I just had to get my brilliant face in the picture.
This year something similar to graciano1337 experience happened to me. I asked for a wii (my parents hate videogames BTW) and when they gave me the box it felt strangely light. I opened it and inside was this
Thats a good gift Sojiroh! I wish I had it Still, I got a chemical brothers dvd , which is also very very good
