    Hey everyone,

I've just got my DECR-1000A. It came from Ubisoft Montreal and it has some game data and save data from Assassin's Creed Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Rogue from August 2014 (AC Rogue only came out in November). I was able to dump the game data and save data using Target manager, but I have some problems accessing the internal BDEMU.

Internal BDEMU is enabled in Debug settings, however, nothing shows up. I can see an error in console output:
    Code:
lv2(2): BDemulator: enabled with invalid configuration
checking hard disk: ...done. (# of partition = 2)
mounting HDD in the mount point "/dev_hdd0" : OK
Fake Hdd Access Speed = 0
    XMB initialization done
    lv2(2): xAutoMounter::Mount failled -2147418056
[system utility]: Mounting BDVD failed, code: 0x80010038.
lv2(2): [system utility]: Unknown media, code: 0xff71.
This is what I see after selecting BDEMU in web admin:
    Code:
    Getting status failed. (255)
Another interesting fact: I can see that there's 325GB/372GB of free space, while AC Rogue data is only approx. 5GB size.

    1. Can there be anything else on my GameOS HDD? Where has the remaining space gone?
    2. How can I access the internal BDEMU HDD? Is my HDD dead or is there some other issue? Maybe it's just empty?
    3. How do I put some games to an internal BDEMU HDD?

I'm interested in knowing how to access my Hard Drives on mine too since they were wiped before I got the unit, it was in unbeliavable great condition so I'm guessing it probably has nothing or it has something from a first party game (since Sony wouldn't hesitate to make them be careful with it)

What is the setting for Blu-ray Disc Access in Boot Parameters on the web admin tool? AFAIK it has to be set to BD Emulator (DEV) in order to read from the internal BDEMU HDD.

With regards to your free space - is this the value given through System -> System Information in the XMB? If not, this is most likely the free space for the BDEMU HDD and not your GameOS HDD.

For putting images on the BDEMU HDD and your other queries - i'd suggest you take a look at this guide which was recently edited to include some of this information, which has mainly been known about but not posted about on forums before:-

I can tell you that you will need Target Manager for PS3, though. The BDEMU HDD supports being able to store 4 BD images at any given time aswell and are usually put on via Target Manager.

Yes, BD Emulator (DEV) is enabled. I tried analyzing my HDD via Winhex, it's very odd... It might be encrypted or corrupted.. It doesn't have any BD Emulator stuff. Offsets that should have images are empty. There are no partition data at all, all the data is completely unreadable. No strings or stuff like that.

Yes, I was talking about free space on the GameOS hard drive.

It might be worth connecting to the kit in Debug Mode via Target Manager, heading to File Explorer for your kit and then clicking/right-clicking the little right arrow next to the BD icon in the middle of the window. You will get some options that will let you either format the entire BDEMU HDD (does the same thing as the debug setting in the XMB), eject or upload an image on the HDD or mount one already on the BDEMU HDD. I'd see if it's possible to mount any images in /dev_bdemu/0 through to /dev_bdemu/3, if not, you could do a 1:1 byte dump of the HDD and then format it to use it however you wish, whilst preserving any data that might have been on it.

Unfortunately, though, it sounds like there's some stuff that is now corrupt.

I can't see any BD icon.. :/ Could you please send a screenshot? I'm using ProDG v400.1.35.3 from official SDK v4.00 package if that matters.

You should be able to see it in the image above - just by the message 'The BD emulator is disabled by the reset settings'. You may need TM v420.

    Thanks, I'll upgrade to v420.

UPDATE: it doesn't have any images...
