DECR-1000a Not Booting - Flashing Green Status LED

    Small update guys, after checking the web interface I saw the BDEMU had the disk image from Dirt 3 Complete Edition on it! Looks like some of this batch of consoles came from Codemasters :D Will upload the copy shortly if I find any interesting debug menus.

    Very interesting, I'll be sure to check my HDD DEV once i get it for any BDEMU images, it's slightly odd as the seller we've already mentioned too many times says that the data contents was removed, i guess they messed up on your unit (Or hopefully more units :p)

    PATA supports LBA 48 which goes up to 128 PiB, so it should be possible to get a SATA to PATA bridge that supports up to that too.

    However if the file system doesn't use all 48 bits and instead uses 32 bits, you'll only be able to use 4 billion x 512 blocks which is 2TB. Sometimes it's just the code that uses 32 bit variables, and the on disk structures are 64 or greater, in which case you could patch the code. If the on disk structures are also limited to 32 bit then it's usually impractical to increase it.

    The xbox famously only shipped with LBA 24 software support for LBA 24 and hackers increased it to LBA 48 and were able to use drives larger than 137gb.

    Yes, I do have an xbox with a 2TB drive so I am aware of this, it would be interesting to see if a 3TB drive could be made to work. But my understanding is that the formatting software available (XBPartitioner) will only allow you to use a max of 2.2TB of a 3TB drive, leaving the rest empty. So if you're right, XBPartitioner needs to be updated to use 48 bits rather than 32 bit addressing. But I suppose it is better than not allowing the disk to work at all, meaning it won't be too much of a problem (besides wasted space) once larger disks arrive on the scene and smaller disks will cease production. Stubborn PS3's will not allow a larger than 1.5TB disk at all and will refuse to format a disk any larger than that, there's no option to partition only a certain amount- probably because of the fact it uses encryption for the whole volume. I somehow doubt that the BDEMU drivers in the PS3 software would account for over 2TB drives seeing as it's only designed for up to four 50GB sized partitions (for four double layer blu ray discs). Adding extra partitions is made possible via homebrew... but, maybe one day, if the PS3 source was leaked someone could add support for larger disks, anything's possible!

    Nope, the BDEMU (DEV) drive was zeroed out /w no formatting. :( Oh well at least i have a working PS3 TOOL. Anything on the BDEMU was just a bonus :)

    Just setup my second DECR-1000A It has content! This system was used to develop book of potions/spells and has a lot of and i mean like 8 builds of the game through the later part of 2011, they seem to be middle of development builds judging by the date, as the last build on this console was made about a year prior to release, unfortunately, no, don't freak out the game is there, but silly RAPTOR doesn't have a functioning PlayStation Eye to play the game :/ (I have a broken one that doesn't talk with any PS3) One is on it's way one the double right now, there is also a save file for the game dating back to late 2010, however i lack the matching game build to use it i assume older builds were deleted to make space for newer builds. If i can confirm the builds are all good, and i can get a VERY CLEAR yes from a mod or a reputable member that knows the rules word for word, the rules don't specifically say to what i can find that you're allowed to release dev builds of a game that was released, but i believe you cannot however release builds of a game that were never made public/released, hence why the below paragraph is somewhat cryptic, i will release all the builds of the game and all the save data (If rules permit it), i will check if the game needs the extra ram the TOOL provides or not, which may sadly limit even further, who can try this game out if it does need additional RAM.

    There is also builds of 2 games that i can't find an official release for, i will say one relates to Toy Story but i can't figure out what game it's for, this game freezes the console on launch (Black screen forever, can't call XMB menu), requiring a reboot so i'll have to take a look at this later.

    This is a dumb question but I thought it was only possible to have 4 images on the BDEMU, how do you see if there is more?

    It seems it's not stored on BDEMU oddly, i don't know where they're located but it seems they're on HDD (Normal PS3 storage) somewhere.

    Though there are hacks (HEX editing) to allow for more BDEMU images however devs would have never done that.
