    Hello,
I've got a DECR-1000A in the mail today, and I can't seem to get vout on HDMI or VGA, even after video reset. AV works well though, even if it's a black-and-white (on old PAL CRT). Do you happen to know what theissue might be? Have I got a dead RSX?
    Thanks in advance

If you get an AV output, it can't be an RSX issue, are you sure you reset the output properly? Have you made sure you are set in system software mode? (you can do that on the web panel)

    What's your GPIO status?

To add to this, GPIO would be the switches and LEDs on the front of the system. DO NOT switch the position of the switches until someone can figure out the issue. Can you tell us which ones are switched on, and what LEDs are active?

When it boots properly (if all switches are set to off) you should see LEDs 7 6 and 4 lit after a few sequences

Whew. That's what I thought, but it was worth to ask. I think I did reset it properly.
1, 2, 4 iirc I'll check later. All systems go from my standpoint, and I can browse XMB but only on AV.

@PixelButts I know, it might be 7 6 4 let me get home and l'll check. All GPI are in 0 position. It's from Codemasters but all data has been wiped so I wanted to do a full restore, downgrade and go REBUG that way

Try the method to reset video settings (Push and hold power, keep holding, release when you hear another beep). On the back there's 2 HDMI ports, one covered by a sticker. Ensure you're inputting it to the one away from the power intake (assuming the sticker is gone, otherwise the only working HDMI port should be there).

May I ask if you're using a PAL or NTSC display for this?

    GPO Checked: 7 6 4
One HDMI port is covered by a metal plate screwed on it (nearest to PSU). The other one (further from PSU) is the one that was clean. Yes, I'm using that port atm, with a standard PC monitor. I don't have a tv set around here right now

Ok, I got it working: seems like I will have to replace CR2032s as it does not hold settings anymore, it keeps switching back. Thanks for the support guys!

Wonderful. I was unaware of this at all. I'm glad it was an easy solution.

I have played with the kit some more and I have to rectify: I don't know what kept happening, now the system behaves normally. Everyhng is ok and the unit is clean, probably problems went away when I reflashed the unit.
Normal startup sequence goes: Main AC On -> CP Starts -> Unit starts -> Info screen -> System Reset (front panel or TM) -> XMB
I have to ask: does upgrading to 4.6o block me from downgrading? I guess the answer is no but I don't want to make irreversible changes.
    Thanks in advance-

No it does not. Any non-retail PS3 has freedom to upgrade or downgrade.
