trying to diagnose a DECR-1000a. Regardless of hdmi/vga/av out, I can't get it to output video (it flickers for a split second on power on then nothing). I can connect my pc to the admin console and run all the diagnostics, they all check out fine. I have a solid green light upon power on (after the boot sequence and blinking green) and when I go to press the power button it appears to work, spins up fans, etc but I just don't have any video output . Should I presume I have a dead GPU? Would a dead or gpu needing to be reballed otherwise boot but just output no video? If this is the case, is there anyone here that is experienced in repairing this board? Thanks in advance for any help! Doug
For the sake of knowing just try a video reset (push and hold power, wait until a beep is heard after the initial one, then release) and let us know if anything happened. Also there are 2 hdmi output ports, be sure you're using the proper one since it's disabled for one (that is normally covered with a sticker) RSX is the issue for sure regardless. @Zecoxao @Joonie @LemonHaze you 3 know this better than I do for anyone that knows what to do with this issue
It does exhibit the symptoms of a RSX issue, those tend to be frequent on DECR-1000, especially more so on DECHA00A units though.
First of all, what's your CP version? This is mine And second of all, how does your boot parameters look like ? Did you try to boot to system software mode? It's either RSX faulty, or HDMI setting issue could be caused by boot parameters or HDD not being detected which can be fixed after formatting on PC and reformat on recovery mode.
connect to target manager. Reset it into system software mode. Sometimes the text info of debugger mode won't display...
Sometimes one of my consoles also boots to black screen. Video reset works for me every time. However, I was unable to determine what the problem is. My settings match the other console I have and the problem still persists.
