So I'm not sure if it's even doable, but would there be any reason/benefit to install the TOOL firmware on a Debug PS3? I'd imagine there's reasons why this wouldn't work (model would reject FW update for example), but what potential benefits could come from this? At that what are the software differences between Debug and TOOL FW?
Well I had assumed this already. Was merely more what benefits there are between the 2 firmwares. Obviously it's not doable but I'd imagine theres a benefit of sorts to have the TOOL FW over the debug FW.
In short Tool FW is very close to what debug FW allows feature wise. The notable differences all have to do with the extra hardware that is exclusive to the tool hardware. I am specifically referring to the extra RAM, the additional Ethernet port exclusively used for debug, and in the case of the DECR-1000(A), second hard drive slot for the BD-EMU.
DECR and DECH firmware is very different file size, so no idea what different event DECR1400 and DECHA00A also look same but logic board is very different which out talk ram, DECR1400 have 2 Ethernet port , it look only one 1 hard ware to soft 2 port, the chip we can find in old PS3 too
The DECR updates do not have syscon updates or BD updates, which is why they are "lighter" than the other DEX and CEX updates.
