Hi all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this (let me know and I'll delete it), but I'll be purchasing a prototype PlayStation 3 with the model number DEH-H1000AS-E and am unsure about what the final letters mean, if they have any meaning at all. As far as I know, the system has some differences, one being the fact that the system is apparently 600 grams heavier and that it is essentially a DECHA00A PlayStation 3 with a more transparent case and has more ventilation slots, but apart from that, it's an entirely new system to me. If anyone can enlighten me on what other differences they have and what "AS-E" means, please let me know! Kind regards, FromAllAspects

Hi Hi_Ricky, I haven't obtained the system yet. I'll more than likely be getting it in early-January (looking forward to it!)! I'm unsure if it's a well known system though, even though others have appeared on this site (just the DEH-H1000A and DEH-H1000A-E, I believe?). hmm. H1000A-E if system software already update it should same as A00A . but logic board, bd rom ... may be they have code name mark on there. for RARE one should be COOKIE-13 logic board

Huh, I'm starting to become a little concerned now. Is it worth going for the DEH-H1000AS-E or try finding the DEH-H1001-A-D? Another question, is the DEH-H1000AS-E a system that will be destined for higher prices or will it depreciate constantly (to the point of being the same price as a retail/development PlayStation 3)? If you plan to use it, then DEH-H1001-D If you plan to collect, then DEH-H1000AS-E I dont think you understand what these were intended for or why they're collectible. They're the same as a DECHA00A, but with some very very minor changes to them. Functionally they're basically the same, so again I dont see why you're wanting these.
