hi members , i am thinking of updating my MAME PC to support later games systems like Taito Type X on my Vewlix Clone. I was browsing ebay and found the below , how is gaming performance ?. I do plan to put in a beefier GFX Card of course but is that possible ?. also is the motherboard a custom made one by Dell ? , and if i wanted to can i upgrade the RAM ?..... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dell-Opt...W-Win-7-Pro-/132026532643?hash=item1ebd650323 btw Vewlix Clone made by Arcadeworx in Australia
awesome , i've been looking at some of the specs of the Optiplex 9010 Case (you can see it below it's a PDF) but yeah it's a Desktop model (the one i linked to at ebay) and needs a half height GFX Card. I don't want to go down that route so i was thinking if it's possible to transfer the Dells motherboard in to a ATX Case , possible ? also that way i can get a more powerful PSU...... http://i.dell.com/sites/doccontent/...n/Documents/Dell_OptiPlex_9010_spec_sheet.pdf
Sorry for off topic, but did you make that cabinet yourself? That looks really pro Are you planning on painting it?
hi King , Arcadeworx do the hard part........they have designs and then use a CNC cutting machine that cuts the MDF for your Cab. Then they pack it and ship it , when you get it all you do is assemble it. All screws are included etc.......it took me about 8 hours to assemble spread over 2 days , so 4 and 4. in total i was gaming in less than a week (inc panel wiring etc.....) , i have seen some others that have painted their Clones but i don't have the skills to do that and make it look really good so i am going to leave it stock.
That's fucking kewl, no idea stuff like this already existed. Too expensive to import to Denmark though, but maybe I'll make my own some day Coincidentally I just bought a PS4 Vewlix arcade stick last friday, and I really like that.
Vewlix Arcade Sticks by Hori are beautiful , i've always wanted one but i have other Hori's taking up the space so i had to pass. But they are still awesome tho.
I have a 9 series Dell, they are picky about ram! Mine has 2 full 16x PCIe slots I just use a PCIe Extension and an external GPU, iirc these systems support up to i7K series Also DON'T backfeed the 12v rail hahahaha the fans don't like that! Some videos i made
thanks for your help and videos LeHaM they were very helpful. I've decided to build a new PC later on in the year and my current bedroom PC will become the new MAME PC. btw love your wall units with Consoles in them and your room looks awesome and a lot of fun.
I have a Dell Optiplex 780, really love the ultra small form factor size. Dad uses it these days, hooked up to a TV and running Kodi Just download the manual for the 9010 and it will tell you the maximum memory size supported
