Normally if there is no traffic or moving violation i.e. speeding, running a stop sign or light etc. there will be no summons. Make sure you check the police report to see if it mentions the other person having an injury from this incident. Also get a good lawyer, you can never be to sure or to paranoid. ^_^_^
That depends on the state. I had an accident a few years back where the guy in front of me stopped for a red light, I stopped, the person behind me didn't. I ended up going to the emergency room the next day with documented whiplash since I wasn't in pain due at the time (how cliche). The other guy's insurance company didn't bat en eye when this was mentioned and paid for the (insignificant) medical bills. Of course, I didn't have to sue them either, just call them everyday.
Yeh. I forgot that its very different from state to state on how you get ticketed and how insurance is done.
My dad went to go pick up the police report this morning, so we'll see how it all turns out. I get to start calling junkyards, now...
