The DD game for the Saturn came out in 1996(?) and the Nintendo 64 version was released in 1999, the same year Sony bought them out. Anything they coded up to the buy-out they were free to release and license on any and every platform as they saw fit. Taken from the Wikipedia page:

No, what I'm saying is that anything and everything that Psygnosis made right up until the contract with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) was signed in 1999 was fair game to be recoded, redistributed and released on any and every console that they saw fit. You have to remember that up until Psygnosis signed on the dotted line they were a regular, freelance third party company. Just because DD came out on the Nintendo 64 in the same year as the buyout means nothing, a contract stating its release on the 64 could have been signed 2 years previous to that so obviously that contract has to be honoured.

You mention them 'returning to Sony'. Up until 1999 they were owned by Sony Electronic Publishing, not SCEE, they are two different entities entirely. Don't forget, Psygnosis games were released on the SNES, Mega Drive, CD 32, Amiga, PC and the Sega Saturn between 1993 and 1999, those intellectual properties were Psygnosis's to do whatever they wished with.
