One side is 50 pin A/B, the other is 60 pin A/B.

Yeah one side is for connecting to MVS and one for Home cart. It automatically recognizes the system it is plugged into. No manual switch.

It just runs the same signals to each connector, you'd have big problems if you connected both at the same time.

Cool pics, nice to see an actual dev board as opposed to a fake "proto" with a 3.5" floppy label on it w/fake kanji.

Nice to see! Thanks for sharing.

So it still says let's fight to computer, then?

Do you have any more dev boards? How many of these are known to be in collectors' hands?

The only other one I have seen is at the "Proto Queen's" site and its a different model. I do believe his has Money Idol on it as well.

The only dev boards I have is this one, the one in my other thread, and the NGP K2-Video board (another user posted his pics). I was planning on taking some high res pics for you all and posting a youtube video of it playing as well.

Neo scene is full of secrets and hoarders. I'm trying to change my ways by showing some stuff I picked up over the years. And hopefully do it in a way that's not annoying or attention-whoring. Which is the main reason why I never did this years ago, I dont like attention-whores or dick size threads.

I don't really think there is anything attention whoring about it. I mean, how many people in the world really care about prototype Neo Geo stuff? Less than 1,000 I'd imagine, the majority of which are either Japanese or socially maladjusted basement dwellers. Hard to be an attention whore when any attention you'd receive is minimal at best :)

Not only is the Neo a dead platform, it's a dead niche platform that had at best a cult following during it's heyday.

It's that whole "big fish, small pond" mentality. I have seen my fair share of attention whores in the neo community, and IMO more so than any I have been a part of.

Maybe I'm imagining things. Anyway, NGP-TV video and photos coming soon.

That's a lot of sockets for C chips. You can have maybe a 2000 meg game.

Also what i the M2 for? Additional font storage if you need more than 1 chip?

It does seem to indicate that it supports 4M ROMs though I don't see the necessary logic to latch the few upper address bits. I don't even see the extra bit needed to latch 256M from a NEO-273... If it did support 4M ROMs it would allow for the limit of 1G of CHR. Maybe all those trace-less IC spots had to be populated and wired by hand.

M ROMs contain the Z80 program. M2 will be decoded to be the upper 1M of the bankswitched M ROM.

I already seen this more than 12 years ago. It from an arcade retailer, but it did not use it for dev purpose, but for testing news "patchs" applied on MVS games. It changes sprite, colors, BGM and sells game as new. It also called this dev board as AES\MVS converter for playing game that is not released on AES system.
