I want to get a wider base of acknowledgment on this problem. I have a BB Jasper (Big nand Jaspers roughly around 512mb). I have a full nand backup that is 528mb, after downgrading my sweetheart Prototype Jasper Dev Kit to 7373 dash I think was the offical kernal, using a recovery program on the comptuer through the network, the dev kit never rebooted and I turnt it off after waiting a few minutes. I turned it on to recieve no audio, no video, no green Ring of Light spinning around and just got a Green power light. I paniced and put in a recovery cd and rebooted again, and wouldnt go into recovery, so yeah.. does anyone have confidence that reflashing a working nand dump with one bad block that is not within the first 10 blocks fix my problem? If this doesnt fix the problem I will be devastated, and become antisocial all that fun stuff when you lose your pride and joy. Yes my Dev kit is my pride and joy not my dick and bawls.
I believe that's what we call a brick. No harm in reflashing the old dump... I mean what do you have to lose? Just note for future reference though that when you jump way far down like that on a Jasper you risk fucking it up.
Dump the NAND as it stands just because you never know what might eventually become useful to you and flash the old dump back on. Worst case? You get nowhere fast but I can't imagine you can make the situation any worse by doing that.
sorry guys this was my fault i gave him a 9328 recovery and forgot that jasper kroto's dont like any thing that old.... atleast he has a nand backup and r3t6 removed
the main reason it not to end up with a doorstep but i think he ment that why not just do the bridge instead to stop it getting bricked
There are boards that do not have the U6T1 and U6T2 at all, I dunno if Jasper Protos are missing these (actually I guess they have them), but there are Boards not having them. Other than that it prevents the good ol' Efuses from getting burned.
well good news just tryed the recovery i gave him on my box and its not the stupid brick recovery .....
http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29429 Check this thread for future safety and kit usage. Also downgrading past what your kit showed up with is always a safety risk unless you are a xenon MB owner.
