Im still new to this collecting business, Ive started to get some playstation dev stuff (oh and ps2 book of codes and stuff.Ive also got a Psy-Q mega-drive kit and some documents - music and sega2.) and im wondering where you guys get your dev stuff from? My stuff at the mo has been thro Evil-Bay. Also what the legal position with these units as strickly speaking shouldnt the dev stuff be distroyed inline with the NDA? When i see pics of dev tools all serial numbers are blanked out to protect sources. Finally what do uu guys do with it? Mine just form part of a collection at the moment i want a complete ps1 dev suite)
Tasty! :smt023 Any chance of some pics?? ;-) For myself, I *own* very little dev hardware; though I have a lot of it 'on loan' such as a S-NES psyq kit. But the HWare/Dev Software and Programming Manuals, it's predominantly been contacts in gaming companys to ex programmers or other collectors for other small things. I was never any good at winning at Ebay! 'Too little, too late' is my motto for that place, lol!! The companies' NDA still makes them accountable. It can either be financial damages, legal action against an individual and/or complete loss of the license agreement. Does anyone know of any action that's taken place around a breach of NDA?! (I'm prolly missing some obvious one! ) Well, I do use the S-NES psyQ kit for programming. I've never had time to sit down with the psx to do anything major with the devkit, and the n64 dev stuff reads like a complete mess to my eyes! :-( Yep, an MD kit would be nice. I read you do PS-X dev; do you use Ez-o-ray, by any chance? -- FH
No, in fact I use a PAR flashed with Caetla 0.37 and the English translation of the Caetla tools, and all my coding is done with SPASM using some modified includes by Padua (who, in turn, modified Silpheed's includes). Ez-o-ray seems to have some tasy features though, and Catflap even more! Too bad I have no docs on catflap, so I have no clue how to use, for instance, the PC keyboard redirection. By the way, if somebody has an Xploder/Xplorer cart for sale, I can do away with my Comms-link card which forces me to use an old PC with ISA slot :-(
Cool!! I look forward to them!! :-D Idono, I thought the 'underground' version of Ezoray was the best - which mimicked the Psx psyq dev kit, allowing C/ASM source level debugging (and faster than Yaroze)!! Apparently, with a lot of smaller developers using Ezoray, it pissed SnSys off so much that you have to have a Key System every time there's an update to the tools!! I'm in the same boat - still tied to a PC with 2 ISA slots needed ( Man, I realised I wiped Ezoray off my 'Equalizer' AR!! :-( Anyone have a link to an archive of it??! rayer: -- FH
I have a version of Ezoray (it got removed from pretty much every website at one point in time) on my PSX dev pc, add me on msn/icq/aim and we'll sort it out
