Most likey it will be the same as PS2, 360 launch prices, system, lets say 2 games, and mem card 600-700 dollars.
If the rumours of the PS3 being region-free are true, I think I'll be importing quite a few It'll be interesting to see if Sony make the May 1st release date. Just hope the finished product won't be rushed as the Xbox 360 seems to have been.
I actually think Sony is doing the psp thing again. $500 for a handheld???//?, OMG WTF oh noes, fuck sony...oh, $249? What a fucking deal, I'm there before they change their minds!! Even If it does launch that high, it'll be snapped up by the people that love to wait in line to get consoles or are playing on HD flatscreens or some shit, so they mostly won't care.

Price speculation is intentionally done so to keep your competitor guessing to your price per unit. If sony said, oh yeah it'll be $350 (with a $100 loss per) microsoft could sell at 300, creating a need to drop to $300 which would result in $50,000,000 net loss to sony on a million sales. Loose lips sink the bottom line.
