That's what Facebook does I think. Logged in to the app after a long hiatus and it was completely different, I think that's because the app is all dealt over a network and features are streamed to the app as opposed to being independent on the device.
It's happened with PSN and the Vita. A few PSP games have been completely removed from PSN, even if you've already bought them, because exploits were found on them that let them run homebrew on vita. Thus, you can never redownload them, even though your license permits you to run your games on 3 playstation devices.
This Remove Feature' has been in the iOS, since day one. That was just incase because if a program went rouge, Apple can pull problem app, can be polled from all iDevices. Goggle also has 'Remove Feature' as well. Google has had to use it, because 3 trojans in the Android shopping Store. Goggle sent out destroy code out on the OS to erased the code from all Androids phones, but never less this 'Feature' as always been there, it just wasn't used to now in iOS. Now with that being said I wonder how much EA paying to Apple to have it removed. =hugh
Although EA did backpeddling that would have made a politian proud. Ah no, that message was simple a mistake, an tiny error. "But you said in your FAQ that it was being removed" Haha, no that was posted by mistake too, we love our customers and of course we'll let you keep playing it. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/05/03/ios_rock_band_reforms/
So, theoretical situation not too far from this. A company makes a game using a stack of licences (A) and sells you a license to the game (B). When some of these licenses (A) expire/are revoked, said company obviously can not perpetuate said game. So, instead of simply stopping further purchases, said company overreacts and revokes their license (B) in order to prevent their licenses (A) from suing them into oblivion. Of course, the only way to revoke their license is to annihilate any existing copy of their game. So, they program in a killswitch effective when their licenses (A) would expire to 'revoke' your license (B).
FileFront man. It's able to withstand the rush gamers can give it sometimes. Shit like this makes all digital downloads look bad, Origin is terrible but Steam is good and is owned by a non douchy company. I fully trust my games with Valve.
The other thing that disappoints me is certain types of platform specific content or extras. That's material inaccessible even for users who WANT to buy it. You can't support items the company refuses to sell! Look at PC version Resident Evil 5. No Collector's Edition, no Gold Edition, no post release DLC...
That's become fairly common for PC users. Surprisingly Resi 5 wasn't too bad on PC though, as opposed to GTA IV...
I dont see why anyone should make games for iOS, theres no motivation besides HW uniformity Android is huge and getting bigger, so much that F2P versions of a game earn more than paid versions in the appstore Speaking of the appstore one would assume they would tune down the police state shit given that they are no longer #1, but is the other way around, and that doesnt keeps the shitware out no sir! one of the apple reviewers there had a fart app, number #479 I think And DeckardBR if you dont like that shit then you better watch out because apple rolled out the same "strategy" with Lion
Only F2P games do "well" on the Android marketplace because the piracy is so damn rampant. If you don't want to do F2P/freemium, then you pretty much only have iOS to play with.
"well"? angry birds made more money off the F2P version in android than the paid version in iOS! And piracy? you know how easy is to jailbreak an iPhone? is piracy for retards: you can do it with a webapp! any n00b can do it In comparison most android phones are a bitch to root.
As far as I know you don't need to root to install pirated Android apps, the only thing you need to do is check the box that enables you to install non-Market apps. Of course, they could've changed that at some point.
Yep I'm sticking with Snow Leopard for now as I have no reason to upgrade to Lion and all my programs work ok. In the future they may turn off the new App Store for Mac if you don't have Lion. Unlike IOS, macs aren't really used for games even though I do like using Mame on it. When I want to run a PC game I go into Parallels or Boot Camp. New programs that originate on Lion or later could indeed have the turn off mechanism which is really scary.
