    Hello there.

    I've had a Digital PWS 500a for a while: this is a pretty good system, one of the few RISC boxes capable of running WinNT.
    The workstation is great: performance is good, and parts are nice. It's currently fitted with 512MB of RAM, a 500MHz DEC AXP processor and two SCSI HDDs. Audio and ethernet are integrated, and the video card is a PCI DEC-branded running of a Cirrus Logic chip. I'll soon add USB to it to make it complete.

    The point is: the system is great. It ran NT4 originally, but it was a waste of a great system.
    Luckily WinWorldPC has a copy of W2k RC2 AXP, build 2128, which is one of the very first dual arch win builds, meaning that it will both support i386 and AXP binaries.

    I thought: why not? Let's try and repurpose this. All went pretty smooth, Psy-Q seems to run and I was able to install Lightwave 3D without problems. Ready for the best stuff? Lightwave 3D has native AXP support. Which means SPEED.

    Anyway, I have a big problem: CodeWarrior refuses to install itself, complaining about the Windows version. It's not clear why, since in the manuals it is reported that it should run on W95 and WNT4.0 and newer.

    Has anyone had such a problem and/or knows how to solve it?
    Do you think it's gonna turn out nice?

    Thanks in advance,
    ~Jack23247

    TL;DR

    I want to run the PSX SDK off a weird Windows 2000 version. All works except for CodeWarrior, which refuses to install itself, complaining about the Windows version.
    Can I fix this?

    Which CodeWarrior are you trying to install? CodeWarrior for PlayStation or CodeWarrior for Net Yaroze
    Also, which version?
    If you want to do a quick test, you can try with the incomplete CodeWarrior for PlayStation here, which doesn't require installation:

    Keep in mind though, it seems way incomplete, so not sure how functional it is.

    You might want to do a virus scan, I think the NY codewarrior update on that (psxdev.net) site isn't what it claims to be!
    Unless your using the coms util AND debugger, i'd recommend using a makefile and eclipseCDT or even code::block

    Hi. Sorry for the weird paragraphing but I'm on phone...
    Little update: CorelDRAW 8 runs way better than MS Paint, and I love it.

    @pool7
    Thanks for the build, that seems to work just fine. It works straight away actually, but the lack of docs is a bummer...

    @gwald
    Thanks for the heads-up. Currently I have no AV software available, so I can't do so.
    That may be the way to go then!

    Do you think I'll be able to use, say, NPP to code and then the Psy-Q to compile? I'm pretty new to this stuff, having only compiled on Linux with pre-made make files and such...

    @gwald
    If you mean the update from my link, I included the checksum; if it matches, it's virus free (ie. false positive).
    Also, the one I linked to is NOT for CW for NY, but for CW for PS.

    @pool7 Sorry I didn't mean your links, I meant psxdev.net
    @Jack. You can use whatever you like to code.. I prefer eclipse-CDT with makefiles
