. mate word of advice. for this auction no modified Saturn is included, just cartdev unit itself w/ buffer RAM cart. that's why it's around 6500 yen instead of 8000 yen. you need modified Saturn as well as all the documents. i know coz i have two of cartdev rev.b systems. :drinkers: if you want there is another auction at 8888 yen which includes everything except the docs... and VCD unit is optional... i will pick up Mirage unit eventually... when it's on YJ again cheers
Thanks for the help dj898. Of course I'd like the complete unit but I have no idea how can I get it. Is there some way to bid from outside Japan?
. no unfortunately. Yakumo used to do but i believe he's in UK at the moment... trust me you will need to spend at least 15000+ yen for full set plus S/H which won't be cheap... cheers
. someone is trying to offload CartDev Rev.B without the Saturn console part. The console is modified so you cannot use normal Saturn with it... pretty useless really... full cartdevrev.b is upgraded dev system after rather loust 1st gen dev system... cheers
Re: . Would you happen to know what was modified? I read something about an NMI cable, but that doesnt seem all too necessary.
If you are going to actually program, get the pygnosis set on ebay. The psy-q is far easier to use than the sega cartdev.
. true. I have full CartDev Rev.B including docs but it's still at Osaka till my relative comes back from holiday. The Saturn included with Rev.B is normal grey Saturn with region rotary switch at the side plus cable connecting it to the CartDev unit usually sits underneath. The CartDev unit has the switch that toggles either VCD or CD-ROM drive on Saturn - or was it on Saturn itself I'm not sure. From what I heard Rev.A was huge metal box with Saturn CD-ROM drive section on the top and pron to over heating - that's why most of them have top and aside covers opened in all the photos I saw. The Psy-Q Saturn on eBay is just normal Saturn with SCSI board put inside the shell - I know coz I have one - and doesn't have the region switch. well at least not on mine. There's another Psy-Q Saturn that does not have SCSI port at the side but has the cable sticking out from front. Was told this cable is to interrupt the running program when connected to the programming box or sort. Psy-Q also use Mirage VCD unit as well as CartDev Rev.B and this thing cost at least equal if not more... cheers cheers
