Is it possible to dump the ram or execute custom code (using the SDK to compile code)? Or must it be activated?
It's sold now. I don't know if it can run unsigned code without activation; there's a lot more I wish I learned about the devkit had I have the proper software.
Neighborhood does have a load executable option for .elf, .bin, and .self files. I didn't have any of those executable files to test with. It did successfully install a .pkg file so it's possible.
That is very cool, I have a PS4 Test and can see the Debug options are virtually the same with the exception of a few things like Activate from Host.
Un-activated kits cant do anything (ie run elfs). I haven't tested but also as far as I know ps4 kits can not run signed retail software either.
I second this. PS4 kits are going to be useless unless we can find a way to get past the activation or activate them ourselves.
Unless sony goofs again and people figure out how to gen the key file, there probably won't be a way around it.
Apparently there is an exploit or gltich that lets you activate a devkit permanently. Some sellers have told me they can do it but won't explain how except for $$$$. -doulomb
@doulomb do keep in mind that there's awfully shady stuff happening with the ps4 devkits. The SDK is out there and an image with all the keys, and I've seen it all myself. It's super easy, but highly illegal. One day though... One day.
Nice video! I have one of these units. They are correct about it not doing much without activation but it's still cool to have one haha
This may be a dumb questions, but what language do you use in the SDK for the ps4? just trying to get some insight on how it works. Thank you!
