Windows 8 is what's keeping me from buying a a new laptop. Windows 8 might be fine for tablets but for a desktop it's a disaster. Plus Microsoft has kept Windows 7 on the market, maybe a sign they knew people wouldn't like Windows 8 so they had a safety net?

What I really want right now is a good Alienware desktop replacement Laptop that's a few years old with Windows 7 Ultimate.
Now, I understand that the same product key can be installed on up to 3 machines? That correct?

Jesus, did the designer have a stroke half way through the design of that case? Looks like something the Ghostbusters would keep in their station...

I admit i havent tried this myself but (and i may be wrong) arent the Windows 8 drivers compatible with Windows 7, so you could buy a Windows 8 laptop and just wipe it and put 7 on? (use something like Driver Magician Lite to extract all the drivers first)

using it on my laptop (non touch screen) has been no problem really, dropping back to the main desktop is a breeze and once there its like being back on Windows 7 anyway, the only thing i dont like is the location of the shutdown options where you have to use gestures (or in my case move your mouse into the lower right hand corner) to get them working but since i dont really shut down my laptop very often it doesnt really bother me but 99% of the things i do on a PC i do with Windows 8 and its no different from 7, maybe its just how i use my laptop (i dont game for example on it only on my xbox) but im quite liking it
