    Hello folks,

I've got a couple of Nintendo 64 (NTSC-J) and was wondering if anyone here knew of any major differences between mainboard revisions - RGB output in particular. The two boards in question are NUS-CPU-02 and NUS-CPU-03. Any help is appreciated as always you wonderful folk.

Or if you can think of any reason I should hold onto my NUS-CPU(P)-01 please try to convince me :)

Stock RGB compatible N64's aren't all that special anymore IMO. The only benefit is they are cheaper and a little easier to RGB mod, compared to using eTims pcb..
I have no idea bout whats best to overclock though... If you are into that haha

I'd hold onto the PAL mobo for now, in case anyone decides to clone that french dual PIF pcb.. ;)
Your motherboard does use the much larger pitched DENC-NUS, so using eTims RGB kit is a easy install... You'd have a AUS-PAL RGB N64 UBER RARE EBAY $$$$ jk lol :p

    *sets clocks to maximum thrust*

Haha poor PAL, I was actually leaning toward the Japanese model since it's a little older as far as I can tell. If there's no real differences... I might end up holding onto the Japanese one.

Although that's something I haven't even thought about - any 50/60Hz issues or had the N64 learnt from the SNES and Sega's mistakes on that one?

    as in slowdown?
I don't think there are any games that are... The only issues I've had with running NTSC games on a PAL video encoder is with the Framemister, it doesn't like the odd ball signal over composhite but via RGB it's fine...

I don't think the games are tied to the output frequency any way, just CPU?? But I'm no expert ha

Magnificent, that's what I was being cautious of... I will say that I'll be flogging the my lovely Sony PVMs soon. They are just too darned big for where I am now. Sad but true. *glances over at @Yakumo's Framemeister thread*
