http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/11/23/news_6113877.html You knew this would happen this time of year... Anyways, judging by the article, it sounds like they have no idea what their talking about. Sounds like they randomly choose most of those games out of no where, and screwed up with most of the names. Not that great of a opinion if they can't even get their facts straight, but then again, Soccer moms and politicians will eat this up....
They don't know shit, which is funny. :smt043 They're stupid to focus on games only. How 'bout the absolutely shit rating system for music, not to mention movies? Games probably has the best one of all. And music...what's with this I'm gonna pimp lotsa girls crap...they seem to ignore it! And movies...and the news... :smt030 If they looked at a store, they often have ratings guides...but even if they don't, does Blockbuster have ratings guides for movies? How 'bout Tower for music? And Borders for books? No, no, and no. Utter bullshit. They just don't like games or TV as it wasn't what they had as a kid, and they see it as bad. Is it any worse than playing a board game for 4 hours straight? I don't see how.
They chose a game that hasn't even been released, what idiots! :smt043 The simple truth is that the gaming industry's rating system - IF YOU PAY ATTENTION TO IT - is far more verbose than the accepted and long standing movie ratings system. Games have everything down to "Comic Mischief" and "Mild Animated Violence".
Halo 2 got on that list because when you're online you have to put up with the whiney bitching 12yr olds cursing. Moms dont want their kids in that environment lol.
Unfortunatly, parents like to put the blame on something, and that something is usually things they have no knowledge of. I have a wierd feeling that all they did was look at gamespots top 10 games and choose the most popular M rated games, then randomly searched for game names that sound offensive and put it on there. It's sad that the gaming industry has to be harassed by ignortant bastards who, chances are, have only played solitare and pong.
