Digital audio mod fz-1 3do, jaguar and the rest I have start to get the digital audio itch after modding a psx, snes, and gamecube. It got me thinking and now i have found a way to mod the 3do and jaguar. The 3do sounds perfect so far ssf2t and Wolfenstein sound great! big picture http://www.greatlakesvista.com/download/mods/DIGITAL_3DO_JAG.JPG Jaguar issues Found a few MCLK like signals on the mother board using the Tom and jerry docs and an oscilloscope. good news its seems to work good on my sony bad news then my denon will not undrestand the signal.... if i use an other MCLK the denon works again and i get the tinny echo... seems like the BCK spacing is longer... I orderd a Cirrus Logic CS8420 and a soic to dip adapter to test i hope this can auto correct the issue with the jag.... dont know what else to try. maybe a new crystal thats a better match for the master clock. i plan to make some digital audio pcbs to sell as kits or installs for these systems. snes 3do jaguar (hope to fix the tinny echo) psx saturn dreamcast gamecube
Couldn't have gotten us a higher resolution picture? I've read that the CS8420 works really well in the GameCube. Not tried it myself though. Dreamcast as well last I checked.
Yea to lazy to resize it.... Maybe ill start posting 3d pictures. Hope the chip get the jag going. but its not too cheap.....
what ver of cdi do you have? i have a cdi 220 /37. last time i opened it was for a rgb mod. there is a good chance it supports digital audio. send me a good high rez pic of the main pcb. id guess pcfx can be modded also and maybe the amiga cd32( dont have the amiga)...
I've got a 910 which I've opened up but the board looks totally different from the 220 you did so not sure about RGB on this one. I'd be willing to pick up a 220 for an RGB and digital audio mod though. I'm doubting the CD32 does digital audio since the audio is produced from one of the CPUs but happy to be proven wrong but I have an A1200. Curious to see if the FX has a DAC but I only have a FXGA these days but should be similar.
Yeah, I figured it was something else in an old ketchup bottle. But thinking it's ketchup is funnier, so that's what I'll do.
